Honestly The thing is built to be a tank. Brushes are what scares us? I don’t think so.
Let’s say we’re wrong and in five years it looks like your mom’s most washed frying pan, so what? You can just buff it then.

Congrats,
I take my truck to the car wash and have a monthly plan. I've washed it at least once a week for 5 months and the truck is perfect, no issues or scratches.
Just make sure the car wash that you go to Uses good quality brushes.
And how would we know if they used “the good” brushes? lol 🤭

The foam brushes are the ones that dont scratch like the cloth ones. Thats what I was told.

Started with Dawn and spray away, however that just seems to spread material on the SS and was struggling with streaking and metal deposits.

DIY rinsless wash 2x a week. Abandoned usage of spray away on SS as it spreads road grime etc rather than lifts/emulsifies. Did the whole iron remover process as previous poster, works wonders as panels are spot free.

I have ceramic sitting on shelf but have not felt the need to use it, though it might lower the need for the biweekly wipe down to single… it’s quick though and I don’t seem to mind it as 2x keeps grime and metals of SS.

use rinsless wash on windshield as well, followed by squeegee/glass clean for perfect windshield. This has become my hobby is getting this huge glorious windshield to be spot free. It’s a fools errand really, but has gotten to the point that it’s easy and consistency is achieved.

Need a once a month comprehensive wash with foam cannon to get bed cleaned, plastics treated etc.

Drive through may be easier though my times are approximately 15 minutes for 2x maintenance cleans that I do in my garage. I’ve tried the car wash and it takes 20 mins +, really a “wash”in terms of time.

non wrap btw, getting a wrap may allow for decreased cleaning, I feel SS is reactive to leaving metals and deposits on for long durations(1xwk) and I feel compelled to remove them. This I most apparent on front SS panel where bugs hit. Washing 1x wk there would be variance in SS due to bugs etc, frequent removal allows for much improved homogeneity of stainless. Again, this is probably reduced with ceramic or ppf but as of right now is not a huge time sink.

Rinse less severely lowers water consumption to approximately half a 32oz spray bottle per wk, which I’ve come to appreciate as I do care for conservation etc as I live in AZ.

edit also the DIY rinse less is concentrate, when following dilution protocol it really goes a long way, almost 2 months to use 2 ounces…
I'm finding the Sprayway maintenance method not ideal results. It's ok but it doesn't remove real grime. I'll look into the washless products. I thought those would leave a film on the SS and avoided those.

Full contact brushes and all auto car wash two or three times a week. I have a subscription for the basic wash (no waxes or polishes) and select ‘no tire shine’ because it slings off the tires and leaves spots on the body. Haven’t had ANY issues, and it looks great pretty much all the time!

I don't wash mine often, but when I do I alternate between a touchless car wash bay and a manual spray and microfiber wipe down based on soil level. There are a few issues I've encountered.

1) I know there were a lot of dumpster memes on the truck when it came out. Unfortunately I think this is a reality for some birds. I park on a roof of a parking garage for work, I will have gross bird crap on my car much more regularly than the vehicles around me, is it the dumpster confusion that draws them to the CT? Having the truck covered in bird crap is the driver for me to do a manual wash, the automatic wash bay isn't focused enough to get problem spots.

2) The front of the frunk is a bug magnet. The issue is a high pressure wash and manual wipe with microfiber towel does not get off the most pressed in dead bugs. What is everyone's suggestion for a next level abrasive scrubber? I don't want to mess up the truck, but I just hand washed yesterday and could not get quite a few bugs off with high pressure spray and microfiber hand scrub.

3) I have quite a few surface level rust spots. I don't mind, they just stay and I enjoy the patina. I have never done the windex or bar keepers friend wash. I am confident the spots would come off if I did, I just don't have the time or willpower to do it. If you do mind the rust spots, you'll drive yourself nuts cleaning the truck.

I take it to bubble bath drive through car wash about 2x per week. Never had any issues. Occasionally I have to use cleanser to get some tar off the door panels from roads recently paved, but that is rare.

You might need to change micro clothes more frequently, or fold to quarters and flip per panel pass.

And yes, the car detailed specific cleaners work well compared to household. Look for concentrates where you can

I’ve had mine for a year now. Car wash no issues, it hasn’t been throw much because I don’t get to drive it much. But it still looks great once it comes out.

2. Soak with soap or w/e antibug material is preferable

Regular car wash and you can put dirty dishes in the back and use the tonneau's special feature as a dishwasher !
