Hi all,
Looking for someone who has come across this issue before before any new owners make the same mistakes and also looking for any tips. Thanks!
Base: 2026 RWD Cybertruck
Product: Baja S1 trailer hitch light
Project: Install reverse trailer hight light for more brightness.
Issue: Light works but the trailer disables FSD (I would like to have both the light and FSD working)
Confusion: Tsportline has a similar product but their product doesnt disable FSD?
I wanted to see if there was a brighter back up light so I went for the Baja S1 trailer hitch. I installed it and from this test I took photos of the oem backup lights compared to the install of the Baja S1 trailer hitch light.
Product: Baja S1 trailer hitch light.
Oem reverse lights
Installed Baja S1 trailer hitch this thing is so bright originally I thought custom mounting it down to highlight the floor would help but the splash is enough to see the rear wheels. Its VERY BRIGHT...OMGAWD.
As you can see the light output is significantly greater and the install was relatively easy I could post up a follow-up however the main issue is when the trailer hitch is on it seems that the trailer icon on the screen is active therefore FSD is disengaged I tried to turn off the trailer mode but the icon remained and therefore FSD was disabled. Does anybody have the same issues or does anyone have any workarounds / solutions?
It seems ridiculous by adding a light that the system disables FSD...
Tried to turn off the trailer hitch but based on what ive seen so far...its due to the light connected to the 7 pin hitch itself which is reading as a trailer...which is stupid...all I want is more light so I dont run over any curbs etc or old dogs...humans.
I looked into other products like the one below
From Tsportline. Interestingly they have a youtube video posted of the trailer icon however they were able to engage FSD with their set up... the video link shows after the Tsportline tech installed their lightbar they had FSD available...the connectors between the Baja and the Tsportline are pretty much the same except for the connectors...
