Using the @Mars Adventure Gear full rack, will a bike still fit in the bed? I was hoping to use the Ride 88 with a Mars rack and Aeroblade tent.

We have the full rack and can place 3 mountain bikes over the tailgate with no issue. The rack doesn’t even come into play.
Here’s an example with 1.

Cool! Would it fit underneath the rack if I used the Ride 88 bike holder? I’m not sure. It would be close!

I can’t say for certain but I just took my son’s Pivot Mach 4 (Medium Frame) out to check and it can’t get passed the first crossbar. Without the crossbar, you’d have no problem. I’ve got 7 other road bikes I can test for you but unless they’re smaller bikes, I think you might have some difficulty with the 88. With that being said, it is a pretty slick rack setup! Have you though about just hanging them over the tailgate?

Thanks for this!
I wanted the Ride88 so I could have the bike secured and locked. Hanging it over the tailgate is an option. I think from your picture if u secure the the rear wheel first it could fit and I could even close the tailgate with the wheel turned!
I might have to lower the bike seat though.

Glad to help! Rear wheel first would almost definitely work, as long as you’re not on some outrageous XXXL frame. Haha! That really is a great system so hope it all works out. Post some pictures if you end up going that route!

Absolutely will do!
Can’t wait to get the Mars setup. I think it is the best looking 👍
The Aeroblade included.
Looking forward to this season of trekking in the CB.

I hope you love it as much as we do! We did our diligence and looked at all of the systems out there and the MarsAG just suited our preferences better. We’ve carried skis, paddle boards, rooftop tents, lumber, and a roadshower all without issue. Haven’t tried the aeroblade as we went with the Skycamp DLX but we know a family that has it and loves it!
Good luck and if you’re ever in the Lake Tahoe or Northern California area, let me know!

One of the main reasons that I chose the Mars AG rack over others is that you can remove and reposition most of the crossbars, the center crossbar that joins the forward and rear rack sections probably being the exception.

I've removed the rearmost crossbar to accommodate tall items in the truck bed before. It takes about 2 minutes to remove one.

Urander crossbars give you total flexibility
  • You can slide them anywhere on the rack.
  • You can stack them together to reduce wind drag.
  • Adjust them easily without removing or reinstalling into new holes like you would with Mars.
  • The top and bottom tracks let you mount the crossbar either on top or underneath the track. You can attach it to the bottom track facing down with an M10 eye nut to handle heavy loads.
  • Supports M10 bolts for stronger, more secure crossbars compared to Mars M8 bolts on the track.

Built-in tracks allow easy repositioning, even with an 8.2 ft hardshell 270° awning or a loaded motorcycle.

It takes less than one minute to reposition a Urander crossbar!

You also have the option to add a back window or our 110" long by 3.14" tall pass through tent, giving you an enclosed bed that doubles your usable space. Once you try a bed cap, it is like driving a CyberTruck, you will not go back. That is another reason we sell way more bed caps than just open racks

Sorry James as not sure why this turned into a comparison of certain features between Mars AG and the name above but I’ll just reiterate that our decision to go with Mars AG was because it suited our preferences.

With that being said, if you are interested in a 270 degree awning for your trekking adventures, take a look at this from one of the biggest and best names in over-landing… OpenRoad. A lot of awnings out there, have taken inspiration from it so do your diligence if interested and find what works for you. We love ours as it was head and shoulders above anything else out there!

No worries! I love all the discussion, suggestions and comparisons.
Thanks for all the ideas!
I’ve watched the videos on the install too… looks pretty straightforward. Except maybe getting the Aeroblade up there!

Shouldn’t be any trouble at all and if you bought the wind deflector, just make sure you follow the steps. A ratchet tool will also make it go much faster! Good luck and DM if you have any questions or need help. 👍

Talking about Mars wind deflector, we still see some complaints about it in 2026.

We’ve had our wind deflector since July 2024, and they finally introduced theirs in 2025 after many people complained about wind noise.

Shaped to match the windshield curve, our wind deflector clears the Cyberbeast light bar cleanly
