Quickrstuff Mach 2 Bike Rack

and it seems pretty good. unfortunately they expressly state that using a swing out hitch like this:

voids the warranty of the mach 2. bummer. anyone use rhe mach 2? does it allow for a CT tailgate to go all the way down when a bike is installed?

i was looking at kuat, then i saw 1up, and now im between the thule t2 and this quickrstuff. for your kuat: your tailgate works when bikes on the rack? with no swing away needed?

Yeah. It can bend down away from the tailgate with an easy to use foot stop. Moves the bikes far away enough to open.never tried that with 4 bikes though.

We have the Kuat 4 and it’s no problem at all.

this is all great to know. I was assuming that in would need a swing arm. now the only thing a swing arm would be good for is for the table attachment that many of them have.

im leaninng toward mach 2 now because of how light and compact it is when its not on the truck and being stored. looks like a single carrier could actually live in the frunk, and possibly even in the smugglers bay

Did you read the specification details? I think this is from the one you're looking at:

"Weight Capacities – See FAQ
1 bike – 120 pounds
2 bikes – 240 pounds total
3 bikes – 300 pounds total
4 bikes – 185 pounds total"

Notice the 4 bike total weight limit! Putting the weight back that far changes how the forces look at the receiver. E-bikes are heavy, especially if you leave the battery attached when they're on the rack.

going back and forth with someone from quickrstuff and theyre not clear that the rack with bike will clear…even with 12 degree mode on the tailgate.

does anyone here have contacts with the youtubers? can anyone reach out to them to test this rack?

the MY forums say that its a great rack and that a single tray actually fits in their subtrunk which is awesome. I think that two trays might even fit in the CT frunk!
