I am very much interested in getting this, cannot wait to get it going. I am not worried about the door insulation, cold air sinks. Interesting idea about the insert. I may go to the shop and see about that. Would keep the cans colder longer and be removable when 4 holders not needed. Currently I just have a single can cooler in one of the existing cup holders. Could be a good add-on for T-Launch though.
I don't think that's how it works. A poorly insulated lid will severely affect efficiency. If you plan on running this continuously, like I do, then it could be a battery drain problem compared to the other one, which I own, and already consumes a decent amount of power.

Mine pulls about 40watts in Arizona set to 36f so for continuous use just shy of 1kwh/day (960 Wh). Probably less because fridge compressors don't run continuously. That is with a dc install off the frunk power feed. Barely detectable range loss.
If you run them like they were designed off the rear plug it’s way way more because “keep outlets on” has to be enabled and that sucks 10-15 miles a day off your range.
First generation fridge.

Most excellent info regarding DC as opposed to AC for the 1st Gen unit. I have the same one and am in Vegas. I’m already using the frunk power feed for some radio gear, but am now considering attaching the fridge. Can you say what size 48 to 12v converter you use?

Thanks!
