I just finished a long trip of 2,500 miles across the most part of the country with my CT, which is my first Tesla as well. Along the trip, I stopped by almost 20 supercharger stations. As I found out along the trip, most of those stations are hosted by some business, such as a hotel or a shop. Like it or not, we have to enter those business for a convenient stop while waiting for the charge.
Although those business are connected with Tesla for hosting those charging stations, some of business are more friendly than others. My best experience so far is Springfield MO. I visited a store next to it, Macadoodles, for using the bathroom. On my way out, I made a cup of coffee on a self-service machine. When I tried to check it out, the store clerk told me with smile that it was free since I was charging my Tesla.
I just read from another thread that some CT owner goes to supercharger station every week for a charge, as well as a free ice cream. That reminds me we may want to share names of those friendly supercharger stations. So here is my favor one, although I have only been there once.
BTW, the screenshot was made from an phone App, Supercharger Map for Tesla. This app display the host business name which is much easier to spot while you are looking for the exact location of a charge station. It is a pity that Tesla Navigator does not offer this information. If you know the name of a hosting business, it usually is much easy to spot from far away.
