For the record, I don’t believe the dude in the article that says he got cursed out. Who does that? More likely he cut someone off or something, got cursed out, and is mistakenly blaming his truck for attracting hate.

People either dig the truck or don’t give a shit.

Nope.
I’ve had people flip me off, yell at me and follow me home.

Cybertruck hate is real and scary.

Are these generally tough guys with different trucks that are mad about EVs, or the “I hate people with more money than me / I hate musk / I hate trump” crowd?

This just doesn’t happen by me at all. It must be super localized

In my opinion, the reason F-150 Lightning sales are far less than Ford expected is that it competes directly with the F-150 gas and diesel versions. Having electric drive and a large front trunk isn't enough to convince a lot of F-150 gas or diesel truck owners to switch to electric.
Detroit keeps having to re-learn this lesson. A different drivetrain does not move buyers. A unique vehicle does. GM's failed experiment with the Bolt, Ford's comparative success with Mach-E, Kia and Hyundai's successes, Porsche's success with Taycan, etc. You need interesting and unique. GM's electric offerings are on path to do a huge faceplant.

Memo to Ford: Gen 2 Lightning needs to be unique

I’m good friends with the other Beast owners in town.

Their neighbors tried to petition the city council to ban Cybertruck parking outside of the garage because “having to look at it is a violation of their rights”.

I’m 100% series. In no way am I planning a meet up where 10 Cybertrucks part on the street for an afternoon.

I have no idea. As a scrawny female I have zero plans to engage with them.

I feel like something that crazy would have been in the national news, since that is the kind of anti-CT article that makes for good viral clickbait. You have a link to city council proceedings or anything?

Sounds like people with too much time on their hands. Over here people petition city council with useful things aimed at relieving the housing crisis, dealing with the opioid epidemic, tackling police brutality.

Driving my CT, I notice there are some that act like I pulled up in a Lambo with scissor doors. And then there are most people who are just indifferent. Haters (if they exist outside the anti Tesla subreddits) seem to keep it to themselves.

Nope. It’s quiet personal opinions that come out when you park near specific houses.

Wow. Wyoming.

My next-door neighbors are in their mid 80's. Both the husband and wife had told me on separate occasions how much they like the Cybertruck that I park within 3 feet of their side property line. The husband commented that it must have been expensive (he often buys new trucks and luxury cars). But he seemed impressed when I told him it was less than an F-150 Raptor R.

I mean, who wouldn't want a modern art metal sculpture in their neighborhood at no cost to themselves? ?

Most people do love it. The owners of the Cybertruck in question are in their 70s.

The crazy is everywhere, no just Wyoming.
