Yeah I don’t disagree it would be easy to add that to there product or at least a projection.
I just read thread after thread “what does this do to range”. Clearly it will change it I just don’t see the same “what will this do to gas mileage “ in the Chevy or Toyota/jeep truck forums you just get what you like and plug in more or gas up more , if range is so important maybe should of just got a model 3 or something like that . Just my opinion of corse

I am NOT a 'range nazi' at all! I have had my Model Y for almost 2 years now and believe me, it's range (similar to the CT) is plenty for most of my driving and travels.

But just because I asked what the aerodynamics and weight for this is, doesn't change anything!

If the thing weighs 100lbs, no biggie, but if it weights 500lbs, I might not want to 'leave it on the truck'...Same goes for it's aerodynamics... If it cuts my mileage by 10%, no biggy for me... But if it cuts it by 25% I would likely look at getting a tent that goes INSIDE the bed instead...

Camping can mean going quite a way from 'home' and losing 25% for a TENT (and who knows how much more for the rest of our gear, food, etc) is quite a lot. Heck, I know someone with a RAM 1500 that has a small popup trailer he uses because it gets BETTER mileage than a 'camper' on his truck does...

But just because I might be CONCERNED about a CHANGE in mileage from an 'external' device doesn't make me (or anyone) a 'range nazi'... We just need to KNOW to properly PLAN...
? ok ok. Nice response ? but truth be told someone will start a thread about adding a sticker to there window and someone will come in and ask “did it change the range you’re ruining the truck and making stupid choices” ?

That's because the other forums just don't equate range to appendages, but it is real and they don't realize that it may be the reason why they may be having to haul around the extra jerry cans.

Just a quick search yielded How Much Do Rooftop Tents Affect Gas Mileage? | GoDownsize
And that indicated maybe 17%. That's not insignificant to even an ICE driver!

And you also need to be aware of the additional noise that one can create.

Yeah I guess I just don’t think of that because I’m in LA and we got a charging station on every corner in California and no ice ? but the noise would be a bigger issue for me

Correct. But there aren't that many places to go camping in the city, unless you count I-5.
