Kids love it. I drove down Main Street in my town today and 2 kids crossed the street waving at me and giving me the thumbs up. It's amazing how kids love it, but when they get past a certain age, they become complete fools. Its so nice to see innocent kids just loving it and wanting to enjoy it. It bring a smile to your face. I think the change happens when they hit about 16-20 and buy a Subaru... usually with rust.

A guy walked up to me in the Ace Hardware parking lot as I was getting out today and said, " I hate this thing," I said, " yeah, it's not for everyone"

A few months ago I had a stranger approach me and tell me he thought it looked ugly. I just looked him in the eye and said, "that's good, I bought it just to piss off people like you".

But the vast majority of comments are very positive. Which is amazing considering that over 90% of them are judging it on looks alone, they have no idea how nicely it actually drives, how good it is off-road and how much presence and clarity the stereo has. At best, they know it's fast. That's it!

I had my first face to face profanity in a Fedex parking lot. An older guy in a Volvo hybrid SUV met me at the truck and said "it's the f**king ugliest thing on the road". I smiled and said "Congratulations!!" and started to get in the truck. He kept jawing so I told him he really was a mean old man. I heard him start yelling about Darth Vader as I was leaving. Really strange folks out there among us.

The first day I picked up my CT I stopped at a hotel to charge after 10:30 pm and no sooner than I moved to the parking area these young ladies swarmed to the vehicle to make over it. I was tired and not ready to party and turned down the requests to attend a car show, twerk, go out into the night, etc. I hastily departed for the hotel lobby and promptly related the story to my wife by phone. I knew I would relish the chance to tell this at a later time to friends backed up by pictures so I figured tell her now. Her first response was “ if this vehicle is going to bring this kind of reaction, then let’s just sell it right away”!

I would say that episode has been the most overt reaction I have experienced but with the scarcity of CT’s in my area not a day has gone by without thumbs up, good histrionics, or every other positive greeting. I have yet to have a single negative gesture or comment uttered within hearing range. I usually devote several minutes to folks when kids or people approach to inquire or marvel at it. Kids are the greatest… they are much too aware of this vehicle and call me “Elon” etc.

Nice. LITERALLY, your Cybertruck is a chick magnet. lol

So tired of being asked what I do for a living....I never tell them, but it's been fun coming up with random things. I get the best reactions when I say only fans ? but my wife hates it when I do that.

Lets go over the reasons people hate on the cyber truck
1: Elon isn’t pushing or aligned with your political candidate?

2: it’s expensive and people are just haters but if they had the cash would run out and buy one?

3: you just don’t like the way it looks?

It’s wild to me that any of these things drives people to go so far as to key your truck, flip you off, spit on your truck, yell out there window at you? What’s even more wild is 95% of these people are grown adults!! I could never fathom not liking a car/truck company so much it effects my life enough to react in these ways or anyway really ! really Sad. Did I miss other reasons? Any hate experiences or has your experience been more positive? I’m in California so you already know ?

Thursday I was driving through Escalon California and a group of teens were walking towards me. One of them gave me the one finger salute for no reason. So I honked the horn at him and he ducked as if someone was shooting at him. I really think he pissed himself.

Other truck owners are threatened because they don't like hearing that the latest and greatest pickup makes their truck look weak, impotent and outdated. They also don't like that they are only getting 16-18 mpg and need regular oil and filter changes while we can just plug in at home and never have to change oil and filters.

But what I find most heartening is that the positive vibes outnumber the negative by a large margin.

A few weeks ago I was parking with my window down and some kids from a college close to me were going the opposite direction and yelled out the window as obnoxious and annoying as you could imagine “noiiiiicccen truuuuck”. I truly wanted to slap them but I just gave them the bird

Well I was pulling into Palm springs last week on the long stretch before you come in it’s known cops hide in the middle because it’s very easy to speed. I saw him he was hitting me with the radar gun I was going like 5 miles over the limit and said “f….. I’m toast”. Yup he pulled out and pulled me over. He got to the car and said “you have a tinted front windshield and no plate. I played dumb on the windshield and said I told the guy just put UV block. I had a plate but apparently the guys who did my rims covered it with there company logo to take photos.
anyway point is I’ve had a tinted front windshield on my last 4 cars and for years. One week on the CT they got me. Something makes me think he wanted to pull it over no matter what

In one instance, I was driving on the HOV lane, looked at my rear camera and noticed I saw nothing except the grille of some Dodge Ram. This guy was pretty much glued to my ass. So naturally, I hit the accelerator and sped up and in an instant, created a 1/2 a football field distance between me and him. I guess I hurt his feelings cause about 30 seconds later he proceeded to pass me then drive recklessly between the HOV and the lane next to it passing every vehicle back and forth.

I get that pretty often x-x

I've taken mine to some cars and coffee and small car shows. Definitely gets a crowd and tons of questions.

I was a bit surprised but I am getting more negative reactions. Been cut off, break tested, the ole head shake...very strange behavior...... A guy walked up to me in the Ace Hardware parking lot as I was getting out today and said, " I hate this thing," I said, " yeah, it's not for everyone" It is over 90 degrees here and he came over two parking lanes to tell me this.....odd. Maybe off his meds, oh well.
