FSD for Cybertruck is released!!!! 😱 Now pushing to early access

To me, this is the same mentality of when people see the new iPhone that happens to look the same as last year and say, "ALL THEY DID WAS ADD 1 TO LAST YEAR'S MODEL NUMBER". It's the 'art' of ignoring all the crazy iterative progress made by countless engineering hours and expecting 'magic' results. If we had never seen FSD, and they had never released it to the public, and we hadn't spent millions of miles driving on it, they'd never be as close to autonomy as they are right now.

I don't understand the mentality of "It's useless if I can't go to sleep" - I've driven 50k+ miles on FSD over the past three years and it has been so much fun, a massive stress reliever, and - since I've been daily driving my truck and not my 3 anymore - the number one thing I miss about that car.

If you've not used it, MAYBE I can understand why you're less than enthusiastic about it - but it's definitely a big deal. Also... we paid for the ability, so it's nice to have it rolling out finally

It really is hard to explain to someone who's never used it for thousands of miles ? it's the reason I went with the CT over the hummer or rivian honestly. Charging network + fsd = the only way. Life changing stuff.

well, I woke up to FSD on my Cybertruck. I didn't realize this has rolled out to people other than some influencers like Chuck Cook, Dirty, Omar, etc.

You'll have to give us your impression of it.

It's both a magical experience and mundane at the same exact time. I say that because it is impressive what it can do with just cameras and GPS. But right now you still have to nearly drive it yourself. You still have to pay attention like you would when you were normally driving and be ready within milliseconds to react if things go off the rails.

Despite the promise of the technology, you cannot trust it on its own right now. It can do 99.9% of the driving, but that 0.1% could kill you or at a minimum damage your CT.

I enjoy using it and I'm looking forward to the future where I can trust it more than I can trust myself.

So how do they decide who gets it? I would think someone who put in a day 1 reservation like me and waited over 4 years for their truck would get early access ??‍

Many of the people who have early access are the same people who got early access to FSD back in 2021. Some of those people immediately took to the Internet and posted videos of their early access and created channels around them. Those people remain in early access.

So, they put in work, developed credibility or at least an audience and Tesla saw the value and making sure that those people got new builds as soon as possible because of the quality of their feedback and reach.

Initially in order to get FSD you had to submit to Tesla monitoring your driving and score 100% the first people who did that were the first people who got FSD. Also remember, in order to have even gotten the ability to let Tesla monitor your driving so you could try FSD out you also had to have paid them for FSD at a time when subscriptions were not available and you were getting nothing but a promise for several thousand dollars ($7k when we first bought it in 2020).

I’ve been on FSD no more than a week longer than dirty Tesla and others but I don’t Vlog and I no longer have the camera button so I’m not officially early access. I still get the stuff generally pretty quickly. No I don’t have this update yet.

So, it’s not just undeserving influencers, and the folks who get it early generally have paid some dues to warrant their position.

I got an update last night for the Park Assist , truck is in service center for a week. Not sure why it wasn't in service mode last night. This morning the truck is back in service mode and I can't see software update screen on the app. I'm pretty sure service center won't update or doesn't have the control to install FSD software?

Couldn’t agree more. It’s not full autonomous, but over thousand of miles, it’s such a nice assistance and takes the white knuckle driving away.

Are those of you who have received it not using services like TeslaFi or teslascope? From this thread it seems like it's gone to more than just the usual influencers, but those sites don't show distribution yet.

Im non of those things - drove to work on FSD this morning.

Apple and Google have set a precedent that when something is released, it's released. Tesla is nowhere close to the same. Asking when or how or anything related, is a pointless question. You get it when Tesla says and there's nothing you can do about it. And don't call the SC, that's just the child of Tesla who has no say in the matter.

With that said, I don't have it yet, but I want it.

I got it last night and installing it right now. I did sign up for early release software updates but that never got me any of the other updates sooner. Very exciting!
