Another company's version dents the dashboard so I removed it. I have no idea if it would be permanent. My dash recovered quickly once it was removed. I just don't want to take the chance. What they need to do is widen the base touching the dashboard.

Are there any existing phone (or other) mounts that attach to one of the four mount points?

Right now I have a clamp type phone mount that attaches to the upper left corner (back adhesive plus clamp) of the control screen (without touching the active area). I think this behind-screen tray would co-exist with it, but it might not, in which case I'd need another place for a phone mount.
