I'm pretty sure there's 10 months of installations ahead of you.Received gray/CB, delivered 9.18.24. No word from Tesla on lightbar. Does anyone know ETA?
The last digits of your VIN. Some people are all protective of their VIN likes its a SSN. But they are sequential, you could literally make up any number and have a real VIN if that many units have been made.how do you find out what # CB you have
They weren't ready and it appears that they hadn't addressed the legal issues as well. This whole light bar situation is confusing af. Why didn't Tesla just include them from the start? Seems like poor planning to me, but what do I know lol.
It's a really good double sided tape. It probably can be removed, but may not be the easiest and the light may not survive.I think I saw somewhere that the light bar is pretty much glued to the window. Is that true? What if there's an issue with the light bar? Do they have to remove the entire windshield to replace/remove it? I don't know if it's FUD or real.
It's not legal per FMVSS 108 so Tesla, as a manufacturer, cannot install it on a yet-to-be-sold vehicle. This whole light bar situation is confusing af. Why didn't Tesla just include them from the start? Seems like poor planning to me, but what do I know lol.
It's attached via urethane adhesive, same type of stuff that attaches the windshield to the chassis. It's a really good double sided tape. It probably can be removed, but may not be the easiest and the light may not survive.
Yep, glued on. However, it is removable.I think I saw somewhere that the light bar is pretty much glued to the window. Is that true? What if there's an issue with the light bar? Do they have to remove the entire windshield to replace/remove it? I don't know if it's FUD or real.
