I thought the limit on the racks was 200+ or so per pair. Did anyone confirm we can do more than that or are we all still saying play at your own risk?

200+ is Dynamic weight, which the Air Cruiser is well under. Static weight, when you are sleeping in it, is much higher.

Dynamic Weight Limit
This is the amount of weight the crossbars can safely support while the vehicle is moving. Think about how much stress is on the crossbars when you’re driving over bumps, making turns, or going on rough roads. When the vehicle is moving, the crossbars need to handle not just the weight of what’s on top, but also the extra forces from the motion of the vehicle. So, the dynamic weight limit is usually lower because it’s about how much weight the crossbars can safely carry while in motion.

Static Weight Limit
This is the weight the crossbars can handle when the vehicle is not moving, like when you’re parked. For example, if you have a rooftop tent, the static weight limit is important when you’re camping in the tent overnight. The car isn’t moving, so the crossbars can usually hold a lot more weight since they’re not dealing with the motion forces. This limit is typically much higher because the load is just sitting there.

In short:

  • Dynamic weight limit = Weight while driving.
  • Static weight limit = Weight while parked.

I understand all that but where does it say that the static weight limit is anything higher than the 200 lbs for the Cybertruck? I apologize if that has been stated previously and I have missed it.

It doesn't but a static weight limit of 200lbs in more than enough for the Air Cruiser.

I don’t see how this tent takes advantages from the cyber truck. No air conditioning or heat.

I saw in @jackychu 's video that this rooftop tent is from a Chinese brand called Wild Land.
Want to better understand what's the difference.
Is there any special mounting equipment provided that makes it more Cybertruck compatible?

I have same question about brand name. i purchased from Cinch website. the tent shippied ftom LA, CA. Not from China. But the mark on tent isnWild Land

First, you need a roof rack for Cybertruck. There are may choices. What I used is from Mars Adventure Gear. It is small size tent. No need full size rack which is covered whole truck bed.

Second, then tent comes with regular/standard mounting equipments. I don’t use any other special equipments.

@jackychu for that Mars Adventure Gear roof rack you used in your video, does it also come with cross bars?
I'm really interested in having a similar setup as yours.

I want to find a way to have my aircruiser in the vault and raise it up when needed, to preserve range. I don't think the L track can support the weight with people inside the tent, even if there was a way to have it on some kind of sunken support that could rotate upward into a raised fixed position for camping use. I was thinking something like how the cybertent is located inside the vault.. probably just a pipe dream to make it happen. Clearly it has to raise enough to clear the sides.

air cruiser (folded) is way bigger than Cyber Tent. You want to it sits in truck bed and still can close cover? Then you will lose truck bed space for other camping gears.

Maybe you can mount tent on top of truck bed instead roof top. May reduce wind resistance.

Cinch create innovative, high-quality camping gear, and we’re proud to be a U.S. company with UK roots. For the Air Cruiser project, we teamed up with Wildland, a leading Chinese manufacturer known for their expertise in rooftop tents and unique outdoor products. Our partnership allows us to blend Cinch’s vision with Wildland’s exceptional craftsmanship, resulting in a product we’re truly proud of. It Is primarily Wildland's baby, they started the project and we came on board about half way through.

Working with Wildland has been a great experience—they bring serious dedication and skill to every project. We’ve got more exciting things planned together ?
