Definitely the best; but not *really the best. CT v. S3XY Head to Head.

I know, I know nobody likes to hear any criticism of their baby. I’m sorry. But one of those heathens over on Reddit asked the following question: Besides ASS, which options/features does the Cybertruck not have that other S3XY vehicles do?

Being the glass half-empty beam of sunshine that I am, I already had a pretty good list ready to go, but this made me think about it a little bit harder and here’s what I came up with:

HomeLink - S3XY 😡

Adaptive Headlights - Every S3XY beginning with the 2021 M3P 😡

Not Just ASS. Dumb Summon, Auto Pilot - S3XY 😡

Auto-opening/closing doors - X (understandable omission, but not a “flagship” configuration)

Best Audio - SX

22 speakers 960 watts total output 1 subwoofer Active noise cancellation Individualized DSP tuning for cabin geometry CT= 15 speakers two of which are subwoofers. ANC just coming online in certain vehicles. Sounds muddled compared to my plaid but many will assert otherwise.

Top HP Spec - SX Plaid 1020hp. 845 for CB.

Quickest - S Plaid 0-60mph 1.99 sec. 2.6 for CB

Fastest - S Plaid 200mph [With no longer available track pack; 175 or 162 w/o].

Binnacle - SX

Motorized pivoting center screen - SX

Usable Rear View Mirror- S3XY

Rear Camera Washer - 3Y [Refreshed]

Older and discontinued:

USS - Some S3XY

Radar - Some S3XY

Ryzen Steam capable CPU/ separate GPU - Some SX (short window).

Carbon Ceramic brakes - S Plaid [with no longer available track pack]

What, if anything, did I miss? If I didn’t miss anything what if any of these do you care about even in the slightest?

But we got hands free frunk…
Yeah, S & X got that too (although it’s manual close on those cars - so YOU’RE RIGHT!)

I am working on a glass half-full list of Cybertruck v. S3XY superlatives too.

Well shit… I thought we had automated frunk over the others… means we basically have nothing but angles
No! You’re right! I corrected my post. The others are auto open, but you’ve gotta close it with your hand— so, that’s a cyber truck win!

Here’s my full list of cybertruck superlatives in the CT v. S3XY match-up.

CyberTruck Superlatives

• 48V Low-Voltage System – CT only (S3XY = 12V/16V). Enables thinner wiring and higher-draw accessories.

• Steer-by-Wire – CT only. Zero mechanical linkage to the rack; allows variable steering ratios (under 360° total rotation).

• Etherloop Data Architecture – CT only. Gigabit Ethernet loop for vehicle subsystems; S3XY remains on legacy CAN bus.

• 800V High-Voltage System – CT only. Peak charging speeds of 327 kW+ at V4 stalls; S3XY is limited to ~400V (approx. 250 kW).

• V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) – CT only. Hardware-native 11.5 kW output to power a home.

• V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) – CT only. Can charge other EVs at 9.6 kW via the bed.

• Integrated Power Outlets – CT only. 5 outlets total (1x 240V/40A, 4x 120V/20A); S3XY has 0 external/high-wattage outlets.

• Powered Frunk – CT only. The only Tesla with a motorized "Powergate" that both opens and closes via app/screen.

• 4-Wheel Steering – CT only. Standard on all trims. Resulting turning radius (43.5') is tighter than a Model S.

• Extract Mode – CT only. Max ground clearance of 17.4"; Model X maxes at ~8.1".

• Wade Mode – CT only.

• Locking Differentials – CT only. front and rear lockers (mechanical/virtual)

• Exoskeleton – CT only. 30X Cold-Rolled Stainless Steel; dent-resistant and paint-free vs. S3XY aluminum/steel stampings.

• Armor Glass – CT only. Impact-resistant acoustic glass; designed for durability beyond standard automotive tempered glass.

• Front Display Size – CT = 18.5" (Model S/X = 17"; Model 3/Y = 15.4").

• Rear Display Size – CT = 9.4" (S3XY Refresh = 8").

• Payload Capacity – CT = 2,500 lbs (S3XY Range = ~900–1,200 lbs).

• Towing Capacity – CT = 11,000 lbs (Model X Plaid = 5,000 lbs).

• Big Ass Wiper – CT only. Puny elsewhere!

• Angles 📐 all of them. – CT only. The rest are geometrical nightmares!

DAMN! This glass feels like it’s even more than half-full! 🤣😂🤣😂

Being the glass half-empty beam of sunshine that I am, I already had a pretty good list ready to go, but this made me think about it a little bit harder and here’s what I came up with:

HomeLink - S3XY 😡
Homelink doesn't work through metal which is why they had to shove the module in the bumper of the 3/Y. That's probably part of the reason it was omitted.
Adaptive Headlights - Every S3XY beginning with the 2021 M3P 😡
Can't squeeze adaptive headlights in the available space where the headlights are now.
Not Just ASS. Dumb Summon, Auto Pilot - S3XY 😡
Yes. Eventually.
Auto-opening/closing doors - X (understandable omission, but not a “flagship” configuration)
A simple software update can enable this. I pull out the phone app and "open" my wife's door for her as we approach. No reason that can't be automated. Closing, not so much...

I think the CT has great sound. More speakers and watts doesn't equal better. The Model S and X that I drove as loaners didn't impress me with their stereos. My CT sounds better. To me. And that is what matters. To me.
ANR should be here soon and mine will be even better! Can't wait.

Top HP Spec - SX Plaid 1020hp. 845 for CB.
I don't feel any of the sports car things on your list should reasonably be put on the Cybertruck.
Quickest - S Plaid 0-60mph 1.99 sec. 2.6 for CB
It's quite unreasonable to expect the Cybertruk at 6,843 to match the 4,323 lb S Plaid.
Top Speed - S Plaid 200mph [With no longer available track pack]
It's quite unreasonable to expect the Cybertruk at 6,843 to match the 4,323 lb S Plaid.
Binnacle - SX
The dash thing? Pass. One screen is fine. I get others may like that but I don't and this is my opinion so it is right.
Motorized tilting center screen - SX
No. I can easily see the whole thing and wouldn't pay $2 to add the capability.
Usable Rear View Mirror- S3XY
You can put a 12"x 12" wide rear view mirror in the Cybertruck but that little rear window already fits easily in the current mirror's size so a bigger mirror would just show more interior.
Rear Camera Washer - 3Y [Refreshed]
Yes. That would be nice.
Older and disconnected:
I'm not older and disconnected. You're older and disconnected.

USS - Some S3XY
Haven't missed it. Don't need it.
Radar - Some S3XY
Haven't missed it. Don't need it.
Ryzen Steam capable CPU/ separate GPU - SX
I see no value. Display is good as is. Don't need it.
Carbon Ceramic brakes - S Plaid [with no longer available track pack]
Carbon Ceramic Brakes? On a truck? Why? I doubt any of us will ever overheat the current brakes or wear them out.

What, if anything, did I miss? If I didn’t miss anything what if any of these do you care about even in the slightest?
I would have really liked the built-in tailgate ramp. But, being able to squat the rear to load rolling cargo would be nice and that could be a simple software update.

100% agree, but technically that’s not CT v. S3XY; that’s Real CT v. Reveal CT.

+CT only has one wiper blade to replace!💥
- Hard to clean windshield 😭
⚖
I know Elon thought it was silly looking, but he should’ve gone with three wipers like in my FJ!
