I got the invite on Friday and went for it. When you factor in the ceramic brake kit, recent price increases on the remaining units, and squint just a bit you are not too offended by the premium. Nice opportunity to own a piece of that iconic model’s history and to complement the cybertruck.

💯🔥
The nearest competitors will cost you over $100k more and none offers lifetime SuperCharging, FSD or 4 years of premium services covering your tires and windshield and more.

Rumor is Tesla will be hosting a banger farewell party for the Model S and X and all those purchasing the final Signature Series are invited🥳

Lucky ducky! Did you own a signature before (it seems like that’s what everyone is suggesting is the main trigger) or is it because you’ve bought 50 million Teslas since then? I have owned five since 2020, but that doesn’t seem to be enough to get me on the list.
I got the evite, I'm certainly not rich or famous but I have bought 4 Teslas brand new, the most recent being 2024 Foundation CT in 2024, then another one in 2025, and less than a month ago, took possession of a new Model X.

Did you get the invite for the S, or the X? Or do you get to pick?

Are you going to buy one?

All five of my Teslas have been brand new custom orders. Most of them have been the top trim of their respective model. Performance, Plaid, CyberBeast. We were among the first owners of the model Y when it launched in 2020. My 2021 M3 performance was one of the very first delivered of the refresh. early purchasers and adopters (first round beta testers) of FSD.

Last month I just spent 25 thousand dollars putting the track pack on my plaid to make sure I got one of the last available sets.

This rant probably makes it seem like I’m more upset about this than I am. I really don’t care. I would not buy it, if it was offered — in no small part due to the fact that I do not like red cars!

But, I have never liked the way that Tesla does these kinds of things. They always seem to figure out a way to make it feel inequitable, imo.

I’ve complained about it even when I was on the receiving end of the uneven/unfair reward/roll-out; like when I got my oem light bar for my CB well ahead of people that ordered and received their trucks way before I did.

Seems to me it shouldn’t be that hard, but what do I know?

I read the email but I didn't click on the link. I assumed the invite was for either. As for buying one, I just plunked down $116,000 cash for a new 2026 Model X. I've floated the idea to my partner/significant other that we split the cost but he's not having it... I can't even drive all the ones I have now: 2 CT, 2 MX. I'd have a hard time justifying buying one but the S is tempting...

I agree with you on the color. I actually liked the original red that Tesla used better than this garnet red. But of course it has to be red. I'm a green or blue gal myself.

Think it had to be that shade of red to match the original.

Oh no I understand why they’re doing it I’m just not into red cars across the board. And it’s not that I think it looks bad I just don’t wanna own a red car. Even when I eventually get my Portofino, it’s not going to be red.

I will say that when I was originally researching this offering Gemini and ChatGPT were suggesting that they were going to offer a special black as an alternative signature color. Seems like that was standard LLM hallucination.

Needs more blue. I'm much more into the bluer side of claret.

Obviously, this requires corroboration, but it’s interesting, if true. I wonder if this will drag on like foundation series and keep going down the line until they find enough suckers, I mean “takers.”

seems like this is only going to be available to original signature edition reservation holders and limited to 500 of the Model S and 500 of the Model X.

I wonder if they’ll do something like this for foundation series cyber truck owners when they’re ready to shut it down?

Seems unlikely since we didn’t get a whole lot of love in any other shape or form.

It appears that Elon intends to send the Model S & X out with an extra bang. Signature Edition apparently only available by invitation. The person reporting this apparently owned one of the original signature editions.

If you're dumb enough to spend $160K+ for a discontinued vehicle you deserve everything that will not come with it long term. Sad honestly.

discontinued, yes.

changed the entire path of transportation, for the world, check.

destined to become a collectors vehicle, for museums when the history books of electrification are written. it will sell for milliions within 10-20 years, just watch. Has happened with other classic, low production vehicles as well, nothing new.

Nearly every car sold for >$1M for the past 20 years has been 'discontinued'.
