Greetings all,
As a current Model S Plaid owner, I am well-acquainted with Tesla's delivery idiosyncrasies and appreciate the continuous iteration of their manufacturing processes. However, the current telemetry on my Cyberbeast order is presenting a logistical paradox that I am hoping the community can help parse.
The Specs: Cyberbeast / White Interior / Terrestrial Armor Package
Order Date: 55 days ago
VIN Assignment: 17 days ago
Here is the anomaly: The vehicle has possessed a VIN for over two weeks, and the backend data indicates 15 miles on the odometer. This metric typically confirms the vehicle has cleared end-of-line testing and validation. Yet, the app remains stubbornly locked on "Your vehicle is currently in production" with no definitive delivery date scheduled.
I have been querying the Tesla AI chat daily to monitor the backend Estimated Delivery Date (EDD). Previously, the vector was tracking for a delivery window of April 21 – May 4. However, approximately 48 hours ago, the system shifted the EDD rightward to May 3 – May 16.
From a manufacturing and supply chain standpoint, a VIN assignment coupled with an odometer reading signifies a completed build. The protracted "in production" status strongly suggests a containment hold. Is this indicative of a firmware validation gate, a localized QC rework queue, or a component constraint? Given the configuration, I am curious if the Terrestrial Armor package is creating a localized bottleneck prior to final logistics handoff.
Has anyone else mapped a recent degradation in delivery velocity post-VIN assignment? Are we observing a systemic outbound logistics lag originating from Giga Texas, or is this more likely an isolated QC hold? The delta between the vehicle's physical completion indicators and the app's status is highly inefficient.
Any shared data points or insights into current factory hold patterns would be appreciated.
