I subscribe to FSD, and have 3 cars that I pay for premium connectivity, plus I am hopefully getting a Cybertruck sometime between June and eternity. So I should be able to use this. I have only gotten around 12 referrals over the last 5 years on my own. I just signed up. I do have one question. My dashboard has no place to cancel should I choose to do that. What is the process? Would it be possible to add a contact us link to the dashboard. 6 Months form now, I am very unlikely to remember this thread.

Ok, so you're doubling my money up to $1,250 by giving me that additional $1,250 back in Tesla store credits. If I'm looking to buy tires from Tesla, this would help reduce my cost.

It just sounds sketchy and slightly worrisome that Tesla could revoke those credits at any time. I think we are concerned with how you're able to make any money if you're getting Tesla to issue an extra $125 each time. Are you gifting the $250 in store credits to our account, or is Tesla issuing it to us?
The credits come from Tesla per their program. The credits are granted to your account when the buyer takes delivery, which is typically within 2 weeks of referral but occasionally lasts longer. We guarantee the delivery within 90 days. If it exceeds that, we'll refund the referral.

These cases are exceptionally rare. Only one referral of our clients has ever exceeded the 90 day window.

We have never had any client report their credits revoked, and we are not aware of any external case having their credits revoked. If this exceptional case occurs and credits are revoked for any reason, we'll refund our fees for their referrals.

From your site: "You are only charged when someone purchases a Tesla through your referral link. "

How are you monitoring this, would I get charged if I share my link through other means?
Yes, if we are actively distributing your code and you make a referral manually without notifying us, it will automatically charge.

If you anticipate getting your own referral, please communicate with us in advance and ask the buyer to forward their confirmation email to us. We'll gladly credit back that referral, no problem.

I tried to give you my referral link but it says invalid referral link. 🤷‍♂️
I've verified the link I provided is correct so unsure what's going on.
Sorry to hear that! Shoot us an email at support at theteslaref dot com and we'll take a look 🧐

This problem with this is that Tesla sends you a 1099-MISC that includes all the money you received in referral credits which you must report as income on your taxes. This will result in an increase in your federal and state income taxes. In some cases, this can be nearly 50% if self-employed resulting in no net profit for you. Say you get $250 in Tesla credits, which could result in $125 in income taxes and then pay $125 to them resulting in no advantage whatsoever. And then you have spend $250 only on Tesla products which expire in 1 year. In a common scenario, you pay 25% in taxes and end up with $187 and pay $125 to the company and end up with profit of $62. But you have to spend $250 in Tesla credits within one year after which they expire all for a net gain of $62. It is not really a net gain of $62 since the markup in the Tesla store is very high. Not such a good deal.

And I would hate having to remember to do the IRS tax part of this transaction. and if you forget it, it may trigger an audit. The tesla store is an expensive way to purchase stuff. And like you said, you only get one year, I lost about $250 in credits (Foundation owner) because I forgot and the one year lapsed.

I created an account and don't think I entered a payment method. when I logged in again to add the parent method it makes me put my referral code in again and then it says it is already in use. Not sure if you are using my referral code or not?!?

Did tesla ban people who were advertising their referrals like this in the past. I seem to recall discussion about this on X over the past few years.
