Nothing burns like the cold! (Let's see who gets that reference first! ;) )
Our latest article features a review of the 25L trunk refrigerator that fits in the lower trunk of the Cybertruck.
We run through the install and use of the refrigerator and put it through some tests to see how fast and how well it cools. This fridge didn't disappoint. Read the review and watch the video here:

Nice review Ken... how do you like this fridge compared to the in cabin one? So it looks like this one is a fridge and freezer combo right? Meaning it can do either? Thats pretty useful if so, does it have any meaningful impact on your range if its running all day? Thanks...

I think both refrigerators have their place. For people who need items within arms reach the interior one will be what they prefer. For others who want to haul more and don't care that it is out back in the truck then the 25L one shown here will be what is preferred. I suppose if you can afford it, buy both! :)

I do like that the one in the trunk can get colder and freeze liquids and keep a lot of things in freezer like conditions. I found it cools down faster than the in-cabin version.

As far as impact on range, no not really. I suppose if I drove somewhere and let it sit all day in freezer mode that I'd lose some miles of range, but in every day use it isn't noticeable, plus I really only turn it on with the app on my phone when I know I am going to need it, otherwise it is off and not drawing any power. I do wish there was a hidden power plug in the underbed storage trunk though as that would be a bit cleaner of an install, but that doesn't impact performance, just looks.

Let me know if you have any other questions, happy to help!

This is the way I use mine. Fridge in front and freezer at the back. Cabin for drinks and sandwiches, subtrunk for frozen groceries, ice cream, meat for camping etc.
I also have some small frozen water bottles in there which come in real handy in my climate.
Yes, if you allow the car not to sleep by installing these the way the manufacturer recommends and use the “keep outlets on” there is some range loss but with a little thought and effort to dc install them both, this isn’t necessary even for continuous use.
I run mine this way in the Arizona desert with no appreciable range loss whatsoever.
Great review as usual Master Ken.
you’re truly a man of the CT people.

Great review, much rather have the fridge in the smugglers bay then the front cabin.
I wouldn't want a refrigerator/cooler to be located in the Smuggler's Bay. I reserve that for emergency/off-road gear (and even then I need to remember to relocate those essential items if I'm going to load the bed with anything substantial).

Imagine this: Cutting wood all morning, sun comes out out, you get hot and want a cold beverage. But now the fridge is buried under firewood.

Or you go on a road trip and use the bed for camping gear or other large items. Now, every time you stop to get a cold beverage, you have to clear the rear third of the bed just to access it. That's the beauty of the frunk for coolers, it's accessible with a single push of a button (and you don't have to lean over the open tailgate).

No need, pretty sure it doesn't fit based on the photo.

Electric fridges are good for 4 day+ camping/road trips but for everything else I prefer to just toss one or two large flat cooler packs in a cooler. There are some tricks to make it work for three day trips, but nothing too involved.

My ideal electric chiller I'm still looking for. It would be very compact and very cold, designed only re-freeze cooler large flat packs. This way you simply rotate the freshly frozen cold packs into the cooler and put the thawing packs into the electric chiller to re-freeze. This allows the electric unit to be very compact and mounted anywhere (since access only happens once every two or three days it doesn't need to be super convenient). It also allows the coolers themselves to be inexpensive, lightweight, convenient to move around and versatile in terms of having different sizes for different functions.

I use these Cooler Shock packs:

I've seen people have less than stellar experiences with these but it's generally because they don't know how to use them. They are not just frozen water inside a plastic bag, they need a freezer capable of zero degrees F to achieve their full cooling potential. Keeping them away from the cooler walls will extend the cooling duration, but you need to keep produce and other cold sensitive items away (direct contact will freeze produce solid). Wrapping them with a paper grocery sack will protect produce from freezing and extend their cooling power. I've kept them frozen solid for over 5 days inside our Oyster Tempo hard cooler at room temperature. That was starting with 5 cold packs and removing one each day (after the second day).

I just want a compact electric cold plate to refreeze them for more extended adventures but no one makes one.
