I placed my order on April 16 and received a VIN. My delivery was scheduled four different times:
May 4
May 7
May 11
May 16
Each appointment was delayed or rescheduled, and then my May 16 delivery appointment was canceled completely.
For weeks, nobody could tell me why the truck was being held. I kept following up with the delivery team and was repeatedly told they were waiting for updates.
In late May, I was finally informed that my Cybertruck needed a battery replacement. I was told there was no battery in stock and that a replacement battery had been ordered.
Since then, I received conflicting information from Tesla.
One team told me that the replacement battery had already arrived and that the service department just needed another 2to 3weeks to schedule and complete the installation.
However, when I went to the delivery center in person, the Service Manager told me the battery had NOT arrived yet and that they had no ETA for when it would arrive.
At this point, my truck has been sitting at the delivery center for over a month. I have already completed my lease paperwork, paid my down payment, arranged insurance multiple times, and prepared for delivery four separate times.
The most frustrating part is not even the delay itselfthe lack of consistent information and not knowing what is actually happening with the vehicle.
Has anyone else experienced a similar battery-related hold? If your truck required a battery replacement before delivery, how long did it take from the time the battery was ordered until the vehicle was finally delivered?
