Old Billy boy knows a thing a two about technology and a bit about batteries specifically !
Dismissing Bills advice is foolish if not perilous.
His remarks about biofuels and batteries are even more curious against the fact he's a big backer in this huge battery company that's about to go...
Crissa : “It does not mean it won’t be sold in the EU and U.K”
Let's just say I'm not sure how you can mistake Elon's explicit statement.
But your comfortable suggesting I'm being less than shall we say 'upstanding", in repeating his message. (And what is the implication for most of the...
I think the essential point to the article, as offered in the sub heading is valid.
“What we know, what we think we know, and what we’re just guessing . . . “
But I do think there’s a lot that is not faith based, but reasonable to believe will be true about the Cybertruck.
The author is...
Wow, external air bags, this is brilliant, If only the Cybertruck was around when my kids were growing up. All the money I could have saved on hiring Jumping Castle’s.
I could have just lined the little ones up in the driveway, go at em like bowling pins,
and watch them bounce up over the roof...
You're not alone Trevor, our Australian Peso is also fairly weak and means imports, and particularly Tesla's are well and truely a luxury purchase.
But one thing you might want to keep an eye on, is that there are a lot of forces globally and particularly locally for the U.S. that are in a...
P.S. By the way Crissa, read my posts carefully, I'd happily respond to you, if you didn't leave out key parts of what I wrote and aiming your response at that misrepresentation. it means your response it not only wrong, its meaningless ;)
I am aware of Plugshare, but you must be looking at a different map to me !
I'm sure the network is growing, but its not remotely viable, at the moment.
Like I said any other charging option is impractical for convenient location and time to charge.
People who go off-road, fuel up at the last...
Thanks for referencing the video Lloyd. I had seen it previously.
The analysis is excellent, and I agree with Jason almost everywhere. He is a Legend.
( As a side note, I have disagreed on a couple of his points in previous video’s though ;))
He thinks the Cybertruck will weigh 6000 lbs, I...
I like you Lloyd, you're funny,
Yes, I stated that, but no, that is not my argument, at all !!!!!!!
That is a colourful description taking their silly point that the F150 (and yes the Cybertruck Too) can tow 1 Million Pounds. Therefore under those conditions, it can maybe do 500 miles towing...
There's no fabricated or distorted issue raised as a target to attack with an argument.
And I didn't raise the issue.
The issue is about towing 14,000 pounds, what range is possible while doing so.
What is the severe reduction from the normal 500 mile EPA rating.
My points all go to address...
That rough rule of thumb is more or less right for when towing something around 4000 lbs.
14,000 lbs will be far more severe. Simple physics.
(unless perhaps you have all the time in the world, and tow at 4 mph)
P.S. Hey, that's less than walking pace, you could put it in autopilot and...
Yes it did happen, your're quite right.
I see your point now, I think you're right, you may be able to tow 14,000 lb/s for 500 miles !
You just need to be willing to take 5 minutes to carefully accelerate up to 4 mph and stay on absolutely level ground, with no wind or rain around. And be...
I think a couple of Tesla fan boi's are upset at some very plain truth about towing.
Fact : EV's suck at towing.
Fact : Cybertruck towing 14,000 lbs, will absolutely get impractically teeny tiny range.
To any impartial interested audience following, you have been abundantly warned.
For...
1828 wh/mile
1828 wh/mile
1828 wh/mile
1828 wh/mile is what the TFL guys got towing a 4500 lb trailer on level ground with a model X.
That load alone reduced the range by 2 Thirds !
What will tripling the load to 14,000 Ib/s do !
The Cybertruck will certainly draw consumption that is over...
I think that video is good for a couple of reasons.
To the unfamiliar, that figure of 235 Wh/mile is certainly possible ( you can even hyper mile at an even lesser rate),
but I understand thats a little on the low side of what most trips for most Tesla drivers are, which covers more taxing...
You sound very despondent friend, and I think it's unnecessarily so.
A/ The recent hype about a smaller version Cybertruck due to Elon's interview, is strange, there is zero news in what he's said !
(maybe acknowledging there's a struggle to meet regulations to sell large Cybertruck in certain...
