  1. Charging from a Solar-Roof Carport

Thanks Neil and Reg. But I'm sure that if my idea were practical, there'd be lots of firms offering to fulfill it, and I haven't found any. (Lloyd found a place called TerraGen but they don't respond.) Guess I'll go with the normal garage plug-in.
  2. Elon Musk scoffs at number of MBAs running corporate America: 'Get out there on the g**damn front line' and 'show employees that you care'

"... get out there ... front line ...." That's common practice in Japanese factories, where the execs take turns donning the company uniform and spending time at a lowly station on the line, sometimes getting their hands dirty. Not sure Musk appreciates the symbolism. The other workers...
  3. What's your realistic "worst case scenario" for CT range/efficiency concerns?

Worst case"? "Dear Tesla Owner, This is a courtesy notification to congratulate you on your Cybertruck purchase, and to inform you that your order record indicates you rejected option 18, 'MPR, $865.' As this option stands for 'Maximum Power and Range,' we are forced to limit your...
  4. Rent my Cybertruck to other reservation holders?

I guess there's no end of ways an early owner could offset costs, and I'm sure there will be entries on this topic when the time comes. Can a Tesla owner "de-tune" the vehicle for use by the kids? Such as limit acceleration and top speed, or at least report back to the owner? If on the CT...
  5. Armor glass sourcing

J'espere que votre duster est meilleure que ma dauphine!
  6. Value of long range variants.

Nothing. By the time it arrives I'll be too old to drive.
  7. CyberTruck App Virtual

To what end AJ? Suppose an owner did not want to leave any evidence of where or how he drove, or a malicious hacker just wanted to cause problems.
  8. CyberTruck App Virtual

(Not sure where this post belongs.) Would it be possible to prevent communications between one's vehicle and Tesla? (Not that I'd want to; just curious.) Could not a good hacker bypass Tesla's security and do a phony communication? When Tesla sends a worldwide update electronically to their...
  9. Cybertruck confirmed specs / features list

Predictions: -Within weeks of the first deliveries there will be so many reports and offers about modifications (here, YouTube, elsewhere), that we won't be able to keep track. -The first CTs will be basic and standardized to maximize production. After a year or so, as production approaches...
  10. Elon vs IG Metall Union - Who will win?

Re your last sentence, T.C., I know of a case where an employee was unionized against his wish, later had a problem with management, and was saved by the union! What is "KZ"?
  11. Charging from a Solar-Roof Carport

I knew of Fut Bldgs but not TerraGen, which does that and is not far from me -- so thanks Lloyd.
  12. Renaming the "Fart" Mode

Thanks, AJ, didn't know that. Even so, can our collective wisdom not suggest a better name than "Emissions Testing"?
  13. Renaming the "Fart" Mode

Dear me, we can't offend any delicate snowflake, so let's have a contest: What to rename the CT's "Fart Mode." For instance, -Rude Mode -Rudy Mode -Rudy Tooty -Gas Power -Bean Mode -Rip Tide -Cheese Cutter
  14. Only Stupid Questions

Genius if you value individuality. No experience but I hear longevity depends on material, environment, application skill, and maybe the substrate, but five years is considered standard. I've read that Tesla-China offers wraps, so hope that will be the case for the CT, since their engineers...
  15. Is a Cyber line of Tesla vehicles on the horizon?

I don't know. Mercedes-Benz makes so many models that I can't keep up -- but seem to know what they're doing. Conversely, GM has to cancel one model (or a whole line of models) after another.
  16. Noob questions about Cybertruck

My answers are likely full of duplications from the other ones. And more definitive answers will surface as delivery approaches. 1. Depends on the battery design, and how it's used, but not a likely concern here. 2. If Tesla decided to fill each market area before expanding the sales area...
  17. Only Stupid Questions

I rarely disagree with Crissa, but have to here.
  18. Only Stupid Questions

I was going to say, "If you have a floor jack (or ramps), air compressor, spray gun, and something to spray (various options), of course you can do it." Then I realized I'd have to ask whether there are central lifting points for a jack to raise the front- and the back-end.
