That was my thought as well, I almost switched to AWD to get it sooner but talked myself out of that. No way I am letting a Raptor or TRX out accelerate my truck, that's literally one of the biggest selling points of an EV let alone the Cybertruck, that its so fast.
When it comes to traction, having the most HP to a single wheel doesn't matter. It's torque, and how it's applied. You could have 1000 HP to a single wheel, but it won't help your traction situation if it's spinning.
I mean, whatever makes you justify having the slow version of the Cybertruck.. whatever makes you happy. For me, 245hp is a ton of power that you immediately feel even with part throttle, and use every single time you drive the truck. $20k isn't much to add that much power, I've spent $30k just...
Yes, Mechanical lockers are superior for a traditional ICE vehicle with a differential needing to lock up both rear wheels, but since the Beast has 2 independent motors, that indepently "lock up", that is the exact same thing. Except it's even better than the single AWD motor as the software and...
Lol, why is that? You like being slower than an ICE truck? I don't understand that comment and what would make you want the slower version unless you're scared of the extra performance
July 11th?
Absolutely insane wait time. Crazy they would lay people off in the service centers when they were already backed up, claiming they need to save money - while Elon is asking for almost $60B more to do his job.
I've got a Beast coming in the next few days and I'm starting to think...
You can buy a Foundation AWD for $99k which is $10k more than the Rivian... Do you not think the Cybertruck is worth $10k more than a boring Rivian, or $20k more than a lame Ford?
The guy who created the website had his truck delivered, so he likely has no motivation to continue work on it anymore. He was likely using the data to get an idea of when his own truck would arrive, and now that he has it, there's no incentive to keep working on it id imagine.
I've seen this...
Most likely it had some major issues when it arrived to the service center, and they had to resolve them prior to selling to a customer, or was a customer reject for various issues. It's pretty much a Refurbished unit at this point but should be fine
Not much but imo, what we have seen it looks pretty crappy. Also, it seems to stick on via double sided tape which is even worse.
If any AWD guys want to buy the one that comes with my beast, I'll be selling it when it eventually arrives.
I walked into my local service center today to get more info on my VIN that I just got for my beast a couple days ago.
At first they were trying to tell me to just check my app, but I pushed a bit and the guy opened up his laptop and punched in my RN. He then proceeded to tell me that the...
My Beast order is 12/20 in SoCal (148 days), Irvine service center.. no VIN. Seems they are prioritizing Beast deliveries with later order dates in other states, because i'd assume the majority of Beast orders are in California and Texas.
I see 3-4 Cybertrucks on the road daily around here now...
