Mine makes the same noise but only when it’s cold outside. Today was 77 on my drive home and no noise. Yesterday was in the 60s and the noise was present. I’m thinking the noise is something to do with keeping something warm on the FDU possibly.

mine was free because i got them from referral credits. i also think it would be worth the 700 if it was powered. i never take it out of the frunk that way its there when i need it. before i had the cooler i never used the frunk anyway.
