Since everyone is offering their speculation, I 'll jump in. Here are my predictions as of December '21:
Tri-motor becomes quad-motor
CT3 reservation holders are offered an upgrade to CT4, at approximately $10-15k more expensive. ($80-85k)
FSD pricing remains the same if you upgrade this way...
Make sure you also have your son place an order now and then have the advisor put the order on hold.
For a $250 order fee, the order can be kept alive at today's pricing for up to a year.
If this EV credit does pass, there's a good chance the vehicle price will go up by $thousands by the time...
I 100% agree with everything you said. At the end of the presentation, I was *still* telling my friend, no, this is not it, they're going to reveal the actual truck.. only when the cameras panned out, the sound faded, and the broadcast ended, I was like... ok... wow.. that's really it.
But then...
Like you, I was disappointed about the delay (or more correctly, just not meeting the optimistic "maybe" of getting things going earlier than planned). We were all hopeful because of how far ahead of schedule Fremont Model Y ramp went.
But here's another perspective to consider. I know it's...
I have CT reservation(s) as well as R1S. What I really want is a large SUV, and if there were a CyberSUV I'd be all over that. I can make the CT work, but R1S is the form factor I'm after. After R1T went into production, I recently made an R1S reso, so I'm assuming I'll get the CT first.
If you placed an early order, you might want to consider placing another one (or more). Why? Consider these reasons:
- Ordering now will mean delivery probably a couple years later than your first order. What if your CT is totaled and you need a new one?
- FSD is getting closer. If it is as...
The prototype looks a bit shinier every time we see it. It's probably getting a bit scratched and they polish it further each time. Nothing in the photo seems different from the prototype we've seen so far.
I've driven by there and you get a sense from the freeway that it's *enormous*
On Friday I landed at the Austin airport and you can see it very easily out the windows on the left side of the plane. In fact, I have been watching so many of Joe T.'s daily drone videos of the construction, I...
This is what I'm thinking will happen. Initial burst of cyber trucks for a few years, then it drops off, then Tesla has the experience they need to make a mainstream truck, and have scaled up production to the point where they can sell millions. And we get left with a quirky, cool, collector's...
I own a Tesla (Model S) and have been driving it since 2017. I also have some wheel time behind a Model 3 and Model X. Have test driven a Model Y.
Tesla as a company has had some quality issues with the physical car (panel gaps, paint etc.) as well as some of the early electric motors and...
My S.W.A.G.:
I think that Tesla is struggling with ramping 4680 production in the short term, but they are stockpiling enough they're comfortable they can bring Berlin (and maybe Austin) online with supplies from CA.
I think they feel relatively comfortable in the ramp, especially in the medium...
I sent a version of this via e-mail to Governor Abbott, and my state Senator and Representative today:
---
Dear <Gov/Senator/Rep>,
I feel blessed to be an American, living in Texas, and I’m grateful to you for defending our freedoms as Texans.
I am writing to you about our rights of choice as...
*Totally* agree. Especially being in Texas where people will take that as an invitation to test it out.
If there were a PR department in Tesla (which there is not), I'm sure they would have adamantly told Elon not to use the bullet example.
