Not sure how much of big three hitting the breaks on EV production is due to consumer demand for hybrids, issues about profitability of BEVS and how much of it is a reaction to Biden support for UAW and uncertainties of who is going to be the next president.
Regardless, the only way I would go...
I agree with your general point of view which I assume is until battery density improves significantly, efficiency is all we have to work with. I think I am just projecting my own issues here a bit. I use truckiness of my truck may be 5% of the time at most and 95% of the time, I am dragging...
If you are worried about drag and efficiency get a model 3 or Aptera. If you are getting a truck, drive fast and supercharge more often or slow and save a few bucks. A truck with a Cd of 3.0 doing 80 mph consume the same energy as a truck with Cd of 3.9 doing 70 mph.
p.s. Rivian is claiming...
I know for most, this is a cool feature they want bad but in my list of features, adjustable suspension both on Rivian and CT is on the Con column. I was hoping dual motor came without it but it does not look that way.
can’t tell if it is photoshopped but the size difference between CT and the tow truck is interesting.
How can anyone possibly lift the BAW to put a ticket under it?
I wouldn’t say zero. Larger pack means ;
less acceleration for the same power train
less payload for the same suspension/tires/….
More cells means greater chance of pack failure. greater cost for Tesla to do warranty replacement and greater cost for owner/insurance company to pay for out...
I am in your shoes as well. To be frank, out of all my reservations, Lightning was in the bottom of my wishlist. Just made the reservation because the wife liked the visibility out of an ICE F150 on a test drive once. And I did like the space in back seat. I am surprised how much I like it...
