Im at 23k on stock tires for the AWD non beast and still have plenty of tread to go. Should make it to 30k before I hit the replace level. It's an everyday driver with a few excursions on rough roads/trails.

It handled that impact pretty well.

I suspect it holds the tire to the side so it does not obstruct the rear view camera.

I can’t imagine the taxpayer money wasted on this.

My take on this idea. I used L track fittings that had a threaded boss (3/8 fine thread), some chain, eye bolts and the molle shelf off Amazon. It has 11 inches under the rack and I put pipe insulation on the sided to prevent scraping. It does not swing. L track amazon link. For the eye bolts...
