  1. Tesla all but confirms Cybertruck production delay until 2022

As early as what, beginning of 2021 he said limited production this year if they get "lucky." Wife and I are in the same position. She's thinking Y - we haven't had a car payment in about 6 years either. Gonna hurt to have two!
  2. Tesla (TSLA) gets bullish forecast with conservative Cybertruck production (under)estimate

Where are you at "in line?" I could believe 15k CTs next year just because there's more to do. When Elon came out and said during the earnings call that CT production will be difficult because its a new architecture, that says a lot about where they're at.
  3. Tesla all but confirms Cybertruck production delay until 2022

You've got a few sides to this. On the one hand they don't formally delay CT, yet they DO delay Semi. On the other hand, you've got Elon saying there's still work to be done on 4680 and that CT production will be the most difficult (when unveiled in 2019 wasn't is supposed to be easier?)...
  4. Q2 Earnings: Whats coming

When he said this it pretty much killed any hope I had of CT coming this year. We're probably more than a year out on any type of production. The last 10% takes 90% of the time.
  5. Giga Austin to start production of Cybertruck in Q3?

Are you saying Q2 2022 is preparing for the worst? Q2 2022 is my "best."
  6. Cybertruck reservation order number -- how to tell your place in line

It's a dual motor. the Tri I ordered is within the first 12k. Hoping they'll give me the option to upgrade my dual to Tri.
  7. Cybertruck reservation order number -- how to tell your place in line

Agreed. The more people that drop out the better. If the reservation tracker is to be believed, I'm within the first 3,000. I'm hoping next summer I'll have it, ESPECIALLY if the new rumor is to be believed that Tesla is beginning CT production before Model Y in Texas. We may see this think on...
  8. Latest From Musk: Production Cybertruck almost exactly same but better. No door handles. 4 wheel steering. Self opening doors.

this is what worries me. One would think he’d be giving substantive updates if we were close to production. I’m (unfortunately) thinking we won’t see limited production until spring and ramp up next summer. You think the jaws win against CTs hard exterior? Not sure about that one. glass on...
  9. Samsung and Tesla sign deal for Cybertruck rearview mirrors / cameras

Personally, I'm excited by this news as it means CT production is one step closer! I'd be willing to bet Tesla puts the cameras in expecting to do away with side mirrors, with a plan to produce CT WITH side mirrors. A quick google search shows NHTSA has been exploring this idea since 2019, so it...
  10. I Cancelled my Cybertruck for the F150 Lightning

Important to remember reservation numbers appear to include ALL Tesla reservations. Subtract a bunch from your "number." :)
  11. I Cancelled my Cybertruck for the F150 Lightning

Smart buy on the Ford stock, imo.
  12. Any updates?

Seems like we're getting slightly off topic here. I remember reading somewhere Elon saying he would give an update at the end of Q2 (along with the other updates he said he'd give that have come and gone). Anyone else remember this? Other news?
  13. I Cancelled my Cybertruck for the F150 Lightning

Agreed. I have both on preorder and will likely be a game time decision. To me, the range difference is big, but is it worth 20k? Maybe they'll throw something else in to entice.
  14. I Cancelled my Cybertruck for the F150 Lightning

I really, truly believe once CT gets out on city streets and people SEE it, ride in it, etc... it will become even more popular.
  15. I Cancelled my Cybertruck for the F150 Lightning

I've preordered both CT and Lightning, and I'll most likely be going with CT in the end because of what you wrote. At this point, CT is the better bang for your buck.
  16. How will delivery of the Cybertruck work?

I've never owned either and surely wouldn't mind flying to Texas to take delivery. It certainly will be interesting to see how it works. From my understanding, in the past Tesla has delivered to owners close to the production facility and then branched out from there. However, who knows if that...
  17. Who Else is Hoping for a Redesign for Wife's Acceptance?

Wife HATES the look of CT. But, she knows I've been saving up for the last few years for a Tesla and knows how bad I want it. Told her I'd pay for it and she warmed up to the idea much more. I think once CT's are on roads and are more common (and she sees the use/functionality of it) she'll be...
