Can we expect the Cybertruck in 2021 -- What's your opinion?

The way I see it is that I would never buy a $50k truck (which is really an expensive total cost proposition), but I would buy a $50k CT because of two reasons: 1) Dramatically lower TCO vs ICE/Diesel 2) I'm willing to pay an "enviro premium" at this point with vehicles, accepting a higher cost...

Can we expect the Cybertruck in 2021 -- What's your opinion?

I agree - and I also hope that for the CT. I try to focus my consumer behavior on "buy once, cry once" in that I'm willing to spend significantly more up front if it means the total cost of ownership is lower and there is payback over time (even very long times). That same philosophy comes in...

Can we expect the Cybertruck in 2021 -- What's your opinion?

I'm going to guess that he was talking about some state level changes, and perhaps that at one point (this was a year ago at least now) was talking about eliminating EV subsidies at the state level by holding federal funds hostage. My unpopular opinion is that subsidies of all stripes are often...

Can we expect the Cybertruck in 2021 -- What's your opinion?

Good point - didn't think about the training side of things. I guess I'm going to have to just rent an apartment in Austin for a few months to game the geo ha.

Can we expect the Cybertruck in 2021 -- What's your opinion?

On that note, does anyone know if they pre-determine geographic priority for reservation holders? I'm in Michigan, but I'd totally fly down to Austin and drive the beast home if it meant taking delivery a few months earlier. Kicking off ownership with a 1,400 mile road trip actually sounds kind...

Can we expect the Cybertruck in 2021 -- What's your opinion?

Gotta have faith. Strange to say faith about a car, but there are times I believe in that "manifest reality" bullshit. I think that it's a fair assumption that people involved in the manufacturing of this vehicle cruise these forums. I also believe that if we crap all over timelines they'll...

Are you going to buy the Cyberquad ATV? [Poll]

fkn Daymak. Fun as hell, inexpensive, and horribly built with more QA issues than I've ever seen. Last fall I drove over to Windsor to test drive some of their stuff. The Boomerbeast cracks me up but it bogs down under weight.

Are you going to buy the Cyberquad ATV? [Poll]

Unless it goes from sporty to utility, no. I like side-by-sides/UTVs, but would totally rock an EV ATV if it was utility-minded. In fact, once DRR drops the price on the Safari 4x4 I was planning on one of those. $13k is just too expensive considering the Polaris Ranger EV is only $12k. A...

Cybertruck: The Most Bang for Your Buck Among Current and Upcoming EVs

At one point I was as excited about the Elio as I now am about the CT. Same $100 down, but I have much more faith in CT than I ever did in Elio. Now I see that $100 as basically the cost of getting to fantasize for a couple years about how much I'd save on gas.

Cybertruck: The Most Bang for Your Buck Among Current and Upcoming EVs

I'm expecting my Aptera at about the same time I'm expecting my Elio.

Any word on Tesla Insurance outside of California?

About 6 months ago I was considering selling my Volvo V60 and switching my non-utility commuter which racks up ~25k miles/year to an EV. M3 was my top pic, so I asked my insurance agent for a quote. My insurance, for identical coverage to my current car, was $1700/year more expensive. Not...

A van mural on the cybertruck

I'm going to mural my CT like a 70s/80s astrovan. I have this idea for "angry pixies" ala AVE/Uncle Bumblef*#k meets wolves-howling-at-the-moon t-shirt and it's so bad I'm 100% committed to it. Problem is I don't know where to get started. Anyone know how the process on something like this...

    ATV towing

Old thread I know, but this would make it much more useful to me than a sport ATV. Let me tow a brush cutter, or a cart w/ tools on it. Or a water wagon (a small one). SOMETHING other than offroad joyriding.

Cybertruck Priority - Buying a used Tesla

I think for me that's a last-ditch fallback. We've been making the switch to electric-everything as a matter of principle on all our equipment and it's been wonderful (we have a Ranger EV, electric mowers, Stihl kombisystems now with the battery backpacks, even an electric zero-turn) - and I've...

Cybertruck Priority - Buying a used Tesla

For my sake, and the sake of other Michigan reservation holders, I hope not. Starting in mid-2022 I will need a truck w/ 6,000lb towing capacity (work-related) and I do not want to have to make the decision to buy a different vehicle.

We're Giving Away Some Cybertruck Keychains (Contest Inside) [Winners Announced]

Looking forward to reducing environmental impact while doing habitat restoration work. Sometimes I feel like we do more harm than good when we have all this diesel-belching equipment running all over for the sake of environmental work. Something I can charge off-grid or with sustainable grid...
