I see you are at a low latitude. I can't get a connection near Phoenix either. So I have concluded it is a matter of incidence and signal strength that causes southern latitudes to fail under the ceiling glass.
My only conclusion is that at lower latitudes, the angle needed for connection is too great.
Like I mentioned before, I would have a connection holding it in my arms and move into the car under the star window, and not have a connection.
However, I'm about the same latitude as LA, and I...
Maybe it's my latitude, or maybe my skylight has more tint from the factory, but I can't get any connection through the glass. However, it is my experience that it is impossible to establish a connection with your installation style from my location.
In my case I have to place the dish outside...
Realistically you will want something that can supply 40 amps for 8 hours every day you are traveling away from grid. That implies a diesel generator, and, for a week 40 gallons of fuel. That generator will effectively fill the bed. You might rent one, maybe 10 kw, probably 1 to 1.5 grand a...
the front panel of the box below the cup holder feels thin and hollow. seems like a relatively good place to mount a pistol holster. has anyone seen what is inside that area, so I don't run a screw through something important?
my CT pays no attention to construction zone speed limits, it sees them it just thinks they are not applicable. I scroll down to a reasonable speed. But generally the flow of traffic doesn't slow either unless you know who is parked along the road.
If I understood correctly TOM TOM is the actual navigation system with google maps being shown on the screen..
Oddly I saw a Tom Tom mapping vehicle in my little city. I wasn't aware Tom Tom was still a thing.
FSD on the CT is getting worse on the highway. It makes you rethink how nice it was before end to end when the car would stay in the center of the lane. Yesterday my drive down I-17 was a lousy drive, drifting over the rumble strip or playing chicken with the car beside. It's been better at...
we are the test pilots
we are the crash test dummies
we are being trained to drive like FSD wants us to drive. you either give in or go crazy yelling at a machine.
I'm thinking FSD never reaches the endpoint. even if it drives perfectly, am I willing to take a known unpleasant route, wait unnecessarily long at a light, or linger too long getting off a highway, it depends on my state of mind. my state of mind changes from minute to minute.
the best place to put chargers is in apartment buildings, condos, and businesses.
that is if you want tom dick and harry to buy electric cars. charging from home overnight is a convenience that everyone can understand.
I got the ceiling mount, but I can't get the starlink to connect from under the glass.
It will work if I hold it outside.
So, I guess there are location issues when the mount is under the roof glass. This is something to understand before you count on that mount.
