Almost Burned my House Down... Thoughts / Theories?

According to Grok: Tesla’s Specifications: The Tesla Wall Connector installation manual specifies that for a 60-amp circuit delivering 48 amps, you should use 6 AWG copper wire rated at 90°C (e.g., THHN/THWN-2 in conduit, which is rated for 65–75 amps depending on conditions) or a larger...

Almost Burned my House Down... Thoughts / Theories?

So my problem appears to be that I have ROMEX 6/2 running from my panel, thru my walls to my Tesla Wall Charger. ROMEX 6/2 is only rated for 55 amps. So running a continuous load at 48 amps exceeds the capacity.

Almost Burned my House Down... Thoughts / Theories?

Are you talking about the photo of the burned wires or the install photo inside the box? All of the conduit is running through the garage. Nothing is outside.

Almost Burned my House Down... Thoughts / Theories?

Two reasons: 1) Allows for a cleaner connection (main reason)…more room. 2) If I need to shut it off, I don’t have to walk all the way around the side/back of the property. (Not as important)

Almost Burned my House Down... Thoughts / Theories?

    I am not an electrician, but here are my best answers: 1) 6 gauge wire 2) 3) 60 amp breaker 4) 400 amp service (Two 200 amp panels) 5) Two 200 amp panels with 1 Tesla Wall Charger on each panel 6) Separate Panels 7) I estimate maybe 40 feet tops 8) 48 amps 9) 48 amps 10) 11) 12) 13) I...

Almost Burned my House Down... Thoughts / Theories?

As an update, they installed an emergency disconnect box and make a cleaner connection etc. Nothing happened to the Tesla Wall Connector, but they are replacing both.

Almost Burned my House Down... Thoughts / Theories?

Last night at 9:12 pm, I got a “communication error” while charging my CyberTruck. It stopped charging at 41%. I went out to the garage to check and the entire garage was filled with smoke. The breaker tripped and the Cybertruck appears to be okay. The home was built in November 2024. Moved in...

    YouTube TV Problem

On the browser I have my YouTube TV saved as a favorite. After the latest update, I noticed that it logged me out of YouTube TV and HBO MAX in the browser. I said, “Okay…maybe it wiped the favorites and I need to re-save and I need to key in my email & password again. Fast forward to today, I...

    Insurance cost / quotes / premiums for Cybertruck -- what's yours? đź’˛

I recently moved from Oakland, CA to San Antonio, TX and my annual premium for the Tesla CyberTruck is $1,192.10 which equates to $99.34 per month. I am 51 years old and a clean driving record. My policy is through Safeco Insurance (which is a Liberty Mutual Company) and is bundled with my...

Son of ex-NBA star and USC basketball commit, placed in coma after crashing Cybertruck

Hopefully he will be okay. Imagine if he was in something that was not as strong as the CyberTruck.

New Front Motor Failed 11 Days After Being Replaced

Tesla proactively recommended that my front motor be replaced last month at 18,900 miles. Today, at 19,600 miles (11 days later) I got an alert that the front motor has been disabled. I never had a problem with it, until they replaced it.

They = Willow Glen Electric. They are responsible for all of the Tesla employee installs and a heavy majority of the customer installs for the Tesla PowerShare BackUp Gateway in the SF Bay Area. Cybertent available now

I have 10,500 credits, but when I go to redeem it, most of the items are for the model 3/y/x/s and not the Cybertruck. Has anyone else figured out how to spent points on actual Cybertruck items?

Tire Rotation - how you getting it done?

I go to America's Tire aka Discount Tires and it is free. The first time they put in on the machine they drive over and it lifts it off the ground. These are massive machines that can hold any weight you throw at it. The last time I went to another one near by house and all the machines we...

    2024.45.32.15 (FSD v13.2.7) Update Installed

Downloaded and when for a ride in the rain. Still tailgates WAY to close at freeway speeds, especially with slick streets. They need to allow for a speed profile to select the distance. The Tesla engineers need to actually drive these things.

    2024.45.32.10 update installing now

I agree it can react fast as a human, but it cannot anticipate like a human can (yet). There are often times you see the traffic ahead and something is brewing, but it is only looking at the car in front of the Cybertruck and one car beyond. It reacts and does not anticipate. With that being...
