  1. Explain battery drain and Snowflake

There are temperature sensors in the battery. A cold soaked battery that has been outside will stay cold for a LONG time after it is in a heated garage. I'm sure there are differences in software and sensors between the Y and CT but also the CT battery is much larger than a Y so it will stay...
  2. Card Key melted !

Anecdote from my Model 3. I have an iPhone for work and an Android phone for personal use. The iPhone gets too hot to use the wireless charger in my Model 3. My Android phone has a setting to force low power inductive charging that I have to turn on and that works just fine. If I turn on high...
  3. Software update 2024.20.1 -- AUTO HVAC improvements for hot weather. The A/C cools down the cabin faster, and maintains comfort at lower noise levels.

Oh no! Please elaborate with details. Let us know what it takes to make your truck alive again. Hope Tesla has put you on a priority list to get it fixed quickly.
  4. Truck broke down Friday night. Horrible grinding sounds.

I'll get right on that after I...nope, nevermind, who reads the manual anymore?
  5. I’m RN# 11323XXX My place in line is 495,744. How is this possible? Is everyone cancelling?

Samesies. I'm a super early RN with invite but waiting for the $20k to drop off. I love being an early adopter but not for $20k. The current 30 day trial of FSD on my 3 is good enough that it might have sold me on FSD for the Cybertruck though.
  6. Any sensors on Tailgate and Frunk to prevent accidentally opening in garage?

I have this same problem with my Model 3 trunk when parked in the garage. I haven't damaged it yet after 6 years of ownership. Now I'm scared again, haha. Fingers crossed ?
  7. Do you really want to rent out on Turo??

While I don't think they will come after you price fixing is illegal. Also, this is how an economy works, supply and demand. Turo is a market. Why wouldn't someone undercut the next person to get more utilization of their rental?
  8. Real world range

I don't agree. Regen or not if you drive a Tesla at 35mph it will always get more range than driving it at 65mph. Aero is a massive loss at high speed and that must be factored in to your "gravity" equation, much bigger loss than regen efficiency.
  9. Real world range

This is not true. You have to add all losses and wind is a MASSIVE loss especially in the Cybertruck. You will be more efficient using regen to keep the truck at 35mph down a hill than you will coasting down a hill at 70mph because there will be so much loss to wind. I can guarantee you will...
  10. Tesla's First Dud: State of Charge x Kyle Conner (Out of spec) talks Cybertruck vs. Lightning & Rivian R1T

    1) Superchargers spaced 100 miles apart is all you need. Apartment dwellers excepted but the supercharger network is for long distance travel, charge at home for daily use. I never use the superchargers close to my house. 1a) I have used Electrify America and while it does function it will never...
  11. Tesla is Not Treating Us Like Customers

While I agree that Tesla doesn't treat its customers as good as it could I think it is not anywhere comparable to Ferrari. 1) Tesla has a mission, that mission is "Accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy." In that regard they are trying to make and sell as many EV's as...
  12. Cybertruck Highway Range Test (Dual-Motor AWD) -- Run Until Battery Empty (by Out Of Spec)

I think you mean "want" not "need" Tesla's are perfectly capable of long road trips and that includes the Cybertruck. Would it be nice to not have to charge as much? Definitely, but they still function adequately for long distance trips.
  13. Rent the Range Extender?

I'd rent one a few times a year for sure. For what price.....hmmmm....$50/day? If I got an engine hoist and a garage with 10 of these in there I wonder if I could start my own business renting them out. Seems like the overhead would be pretty low. Just need space, a technician to install/remove...
