  1. Cybertruck Highway Range Test (Dual-Motor AWD) -- Run Until Battery Empty (by Out Of Spec)

Exactly - for the vast majority of truck buyers doing truck things - which to be clear is not the majority of 150/1500 series truck buyers - they are only a minority of that market segment - no one cares about 0-60mph. That market segment cares about towing range/stability, off-road...
  2. Cybertruck Highway Range Test (Dual-Motor AWD) -- Run Until Battery Empty (by Out Of Spec)

Yeah BEVs are the exact opposite of ICE vehicles in this respect. Better in the city, worse on the highway due to higher wind resistance coupled with less regen braking. All Tesla has to do is use the default EPA adjustment factor instead of the more generous 5 cycle EPA factor that they tend...
  3. 💥Features NOT available OR limited💥

I hear you. Typically whenever people say "AP" or Autopilot - IME what they really mean is Autosteer beta. Autosteer is also not the same as Lane Assist - so it gets a bit confusing for sure.
  4. 💥Features NOT available OR limited💥

No, they aren't. Lane Keep Assist is not the same as AP. Nor is Lane Departure Avoidance: https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/model3/en_jo/GUID-ADA05DFF-963D-477D-9A51-FA8C8F6429F1.html
  5. 💥Features NOT available OR limited💥

For the Summon item - I'd break it out to include the entire EAP suite: Navigate on AP/Auto Lane Change/Summon/Smart Summon/Auto Park It's really ironic to me that Tesla is selling early adopter CTs for $20k and the single largest component of that upsell - FSD - doesn't work at all -...
  6. 💥Features NOT available OR limited💥

The only reason CCS might come into play is for 350kw CCS chargers, especially in the relative near term given we won't see third party chargers really convert over to support NACS until 2025 from most of the announcements I've seen. Given the lengthy charge times we're seeing for 250kw...
  7. No CyberTruck reviews showing details about AP, FSD etc.

FSD and AP are not functional on the CT. When people say AP, they typically mean Autosteer - which is beta, and is also not available on the CT. TACC only at at this time. Technically Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control beta is available - but that's not real useful when AP doesn't work LOL...
  8. Cybertruck Highway Range Test (Dual-Motor AWD) -- Run Until Battery Empty (by Out Of Spec)

The Cybercell - the gen2 4680 - in the CTs has the same 269wh/kg rating as the 2170 batteries (270wh/kg) - so the range would really not be better had they used a 2170 battery pack. The charging curve/performance however - at least from early reports - doesn't seem to be any better than the Gen...
  9. Cybertruck Highway Range Test (Dual-Motor AWD) -- Run Until Battery Empty (by Out Of Spec)

Yes and no. The simple fact is that Tesla chooses to use higher adjustment factors than any other manufacturer today. Tesla claims to do so because they have better efficiency than any other manufacturer - but the real world ranges don't really prove this out - which is why Tesla takes heat...
  10. Confirmed: Basic Autopilot NOT activated yet

For the 1% early alpha adopter types - anything is basically acceptable as most believe in the mission enough to overlook pretty much any shortcomings - these are the automotive "nerds" so to speak, for lack of a better label. These are what many often label as the true diehard fanboy base...
  11. Confirmed: Basic Autopilot NOT activated yet

This is why Musk has hedged so much on the CT ramp - and rightly and repeatedly has said it's not going to ramp like other products - it'll be 12-18 months until we see any major ramp. He even went so far as to say that CT will not be material to 2024 Tesla financials. That's code for very low...
  12. Confirmed: Basic Autopilot NOT activated yet

When we say basic autopilot - exactly what are we referring to? Is TACC still available? Are we referring only to Autosteer - which is really still in beta for all vehicles using it? Autosteer is not the same as lane keep assist. Either way, I'm disappointed, but am just trying to get...
  13. Efficiency report: 76 kWh over 190 miles (402Wh/mi) on highway in Cybertruck dual-motor AWD

I think the bottom line is that no EV pickup on the market today is really designed for truck people that do truck things. From the statistics I've seen - the majority of EV pickup buyers are not previous ICE pickup owners actually - they have never owned a pickup before. Many come from either...
  14. NO TAX CREDIT! Tesla Cybertruck 2024

We already know - as the IRS gives everyone a list of all qualifying vehicles for 2024, and the CT is not on it - and the Tesla website clearly states that the CY may qualify later in 2024.
  15. Efficiency report: 76 kWh over 190 miles (402Wh/mi) on highway in Cybertruck dual-motor AWD

The number indicated on the screen for the charging session that I'm referring to is the actual amount added to the pack - the amount of energy lost during transmission is also reflected just in a different area on the screen or in the app. I also use Tessie which more easily differentiates...
  16. Efficiency report: 76 kWh over 190 miles (402Wh/mi) on highway in Cybertruck dual-motor AWD

Somewhat anecdotal, but here's a link to a video where the CT owner is DC charging from 14% SoC to 90% before his camera dies, and he added 94kw of power to the pack: Couple of observations on this video. One, it took 50 minutes to charge from 14% to 90%. It took 40 minutes to charge to...
  17. Efficiency report: 76 kWh over 190 miles (402Wh/mi) on highway in Cybertruck dual-motor AWD

IIRC Tesla stated that the useable pack is 123kwh, not the gross amount. If we approach this using actual battery calculations at the cell level, the gen 1 4680 battery cell contained a maximum of 98wh of energy. From what we have ascertained - the CT pack contains around 1360-1366 cells per...
  18. Homelink in Foundation Series

I'd like to have a HUD be an option personally, for the 3/Y/CT. It'd be nice for Tesla to offer this as a delivery center installed accessory. That way the speed is projected right into your field of vision - and doesn't require looking anywhere else other than where you're already looking...
  19. NO TAX CREDIT! Tesla Cybertruck 2024

Agree 100%. It's a sales obfuscation strategy. Tesla doesn't want to cannibalize FS sales during 2024 by explicitly listing the dual motor CT as qualifying for the 2024 tax credit so they put out a generic statement that it "should" qualify maybe later this year. I get the strategy, even if...
  20. Check out the rear legroom, storage space w/ back seats folded up, and huge glass roof

My overall assessment is just as it has been for the last five years of what Tesla has been doing with each new platform - iterating new technologies that will ultimately allow the company to produce a true mass market EV. Hence the 48v low voltage system, the SS exterior (don't be surprised if...
