This video came out several hours ago basically saying that the battery technology in the CT will have to be considerably more energy dense / economical to meet the currently advertised prices. I tend to agree that the CT will definitely benefit from whatever is announced on Battery Day...
I've seen in many youtube reviews that depending on how much you personally need heat (cabin temperature) and how cold it is outside you can expect at least a 20% decrease in range. I am sure the CT will have the heatpump so that will improve efficiency as far as maintaining cabin temperature...
Like Idjessee said I think the 75 inches is at the "standard" suspension setting. I'm sure there will be settings for loading (front high, back low) and easy entry (front low, back low) like the Ram air suspension. I Imagine you'll be able to park it that way too. I hope anyway. it sounds like...
Ok so I'm not sure if you read the entire quote from Elon. He said that they did no consumer testing for the design of the truck and that at the time he realized that it could fail and they would just build a normal truck. Obviously... after half a million or more pre-orders it is not a failure...
I think these comparisons are fun but not very practical. If I had a bazillion dollars I'd have one of each. One would be my hardcore rock-crawler and the other would be my badass stuff hauler.
And we all know which is which.
Don't get me wrong. I think the CT will be formidable off-road. It's...
Just for fun, let's assume they will begin making deliveries in late 2021. When do you think we'll see a production model of the CT with all of the details solidified and mysteries solved?
I didn't follow the M3 or MY from reveal to production so I'm not sure what their timelines looked like. I...
I would change your order to FSD before July 1st or you will most likely pay the higher price. That is part of the reason I put my preorder in. I think you can manage your orders on the site and add it.
Don't get me wrong. I love the minimalist interiors of the current Models 3 and Y, but this thing doesn't even have a glove box. Is a vehicle even a vehicle if it doesn't have a glove box? Where do you put your gloves?!?!?!?!?
All jokes aside, I do hope there is at least as much "driver...
I don't think the poll is inaccurate. I think you are seeing an influx of people who appreciate EVs, but the currently offered EVs didn't meet their needs/wants. I've seen the videos of the current Tesla models fording water and traveling on a fire trail but that is not the "off-roading" that...
I currently have a 4Runner and the rear window rolls down. I LOVE IT!! The Tundra is the only truck I know of that the rear window rolls down, but I would love it if the CT rear window did too. Some of the talk is that you'll be able to access the "vault" from inside the CT, but nobody is really...
the CT will be my first EV!
I've been interested in Teslas for a few years now, but really only in the last year or two have I looked into them with any detail. I was convinced that electricity would cost me more than gasoline until I watched some youtube videos that do the math. I was a bit...
According to this Teslarati article it looks like they may be going for the "magic seat" in Honda Ridgeline:
Leaving a huge flat loading area in the rear of the compartment.
You're probably right about the hub caps. The main issue I have with them is they stick out further than the sidewall of the tires which is a recipe for rim rash.
In all seriousness, here's what I'd consider:
1. Wrap of some sort (after reveling in the memories of my Grandpa's DeLorean)
2. Tires - except I think they'll actually deliver it with some decent AT tires (Falken Wildpeak etc.)
3. Rims - cuz I think the proto-rims were FUGLY
So you're not confident they'll get whatever system they've got through legislation huh?:ROFLMAO:
Edit: removed double negative "not confident they won't get", cuz I have OCD...
As far as interior options go, I want premium sound, heated seats (please God let the CT get a heated steering wheel (don't knock it till you've tried it)), and a 5-passenger option (bucket seats with a center console for storage / charging of personal electronics etc.).
I love and adore my...
Of course I can't find the picture now, but I have seen a picture of the center seat folded down and there are 3 cupholders on the back of it as well as a center console-ish bin you can open and store stuff in.
I had the same question though. Where will I put my phone and charge it? There...
I've been a fan of EVs since the Model 3 dropped. If I hadn't purchased my 4Runner in 2016, I would probably have a Model 3 right now. Teslas are so much more than transportation.
I initially was a bit bewildered by the design but it has grown on me quite a bit. I also feel like a $100 fully...
