A 500-mile range would be quite necessary for a pickup truck. Heck, my model Y range is cut in half when pulling an aluminum trailer with a motorcycle on it.
Obviously to flip them for a quick profit then keep one for themselves.
I thought there was some clause with Tesla in the order agreement that ya can't do that.
Well, let's see now. This was in May of 2021 at the Richmond Tesla dealer. I think his name might have been Gary.
Actually, I don't really recall as it's been quite a while since I've been talking to them. I placed my order for my truck and Y model online.
If this disqualifies my comment of...
Can hardly wait to get my vehicle so I can go 0-60 fast enough to get a ticket. Seems to be the only saleable feature of the truck. That's mostly all a salesperson wants to talk about.
I'm really not impressed with the 0-60 in 2 Nano seconds. Where are ya going to do that without getting a ticket for excessive acceleration? Maybe work on extending the battery life instead of setting land speed records.
The range will be based upon the lightest configuration of the vehicle. Once you throw in a passenger or two, a load in the bed of the truck and a trailer, that range falls off real fast. Good luck getting through a work day on one charge.
