Running Blizzak or Nokian winter / snow tires yet?

I'm running the Nokians. Great tire. Range is surprisingly good. I recently got 427Wh/mi (288 miles of range) on a mostly flat 99-mile drive in the Yukon. Temperature was around 5 degrees F. It was snowy/icy conditions so I kept the speed around 55mph. The traction is excellent on snow/ice.

    Settings for Snow Driving

Yep, driving fast in very icy conditions can be scary. Only solution is studded tires, or slow down. It's great that the slippery surface mode helped you in this case. That's probably why it is there. I'm still confused about your experience though. What was causing you to slide? If you were...

    Settings for Snow Driving

It's not the truck, it's the tires. You can't expect summer tires to perform well in snow / ice. On any vehicle. I've found the truck performs extremely well on a wide variety of snow and ice. I installed snow tires. Traction is better with this truck than any of my previous vehicles.

    Settings for Snow Driving

I've been experimenting with Slippery Surface mode. It definitely turns itself off after a short bit, even during the same drive without going into park. I'm not sure exactly what the mode is doing (the manual isn't clear on this), but I get the sense all it does is reduce the amount of regen...

Need rear passenger window replaced after theft/vandalism - Advice Requested

Why can't you drive it? Does the truck detect the broken window and disable high speeds or something? Can't you tape some plastic over the window and keep using the truck? Sorry to hear about your misfortune. That really sucks.

🥶 The ultimate winter test: Yukon Cybertruck solstice trip

I never toggled it manually, but I believe the wiper heater turned on automatically when I enabled defrost mode. Wiper did great. No issues. I took the truck skiing in the Pass a few days ago, went from slush and rain into cold and snow, which caused all sorts of ice to build up all over the...

🥶 The ultimate winter test: Yukon Cybertruck solstice trip

Couldn't agree more. I feel like to understand this you have to do an absolute ton of research, or be an engineer. Vast majority of people just don't get it. Every aspect of the CT's design is about function and efficiency. The Silverado and F150...designed to look like a truck first, cut...

🥶 The ultimate winter test: Yukon Cybertruck solstice trip

We were also surprised and saddened to see this. I've been visiting Whitehorse for 14 years and I never felt unsafe, until now. Something is different, maybe more drugs in town? Graffiti all over the place, I never used to see that.

🥶 The ultimate winter test: Yukon Cybertruck solstice trip

Haines is small enough that nobody is anonymous, so people generally act with kindness and respect. Even if they don't like the truck, the conversations are still civil. I'd say about 75% of folks have been stoked for me and genuinely curious about the truck. I work remotely, in the engineering...

🥶 The ultimate winter test: Yukon Cybertruck solstice trip

I think they look great in person. My biggest fear was that changing the wheels and tires would hurt the range significantly. Quite pleased to find that isn't the case.

No studs. I find that with good winter tires studs aren't necessary. Non studded does great on snow, and when on ice I prefer to just slow down.

Yeah straight from the truck USB-C to the Mini. It's a 6ft USB-C cable from Amazon. Important to keep it short to avoid voltage drop. Worked perfectly.

🥶 The ultimate winter test: Yukon Cybertruck solstice trip

Now that I've officially had my truck in Alaska for a week, I figured "This is going great so far...why not put it to the ultimate test?" So I loaded up the wife and 11-month old baby, and enough gear for ice skating, skiing, and snowboarding for the three of us, and drove it to Whitehorse...

Cybertruck charging limits at home +cold weather

Wait a minute, this seems backwards to me. The CT is capable of warming its own battery, presumably in an efficient manner. If it's plugged in, you're paying your standard electric rate to warm the battery. This would be way less power use and way less cost than heating an entire garage. So why...

Considering TSLA is up 145% in the last 6 months... [WARNING: NO POLITICS, ONLY POLICY]

I believe to invest in a stock like TSLA, there are two good strategies: 1) DCA in, hold long term (10+ years). You really can't lose here, as long as you keep an eye out for any major strategy changes or industry developments that could jeopardize future profits. 2) Swing trade the...

My day finally came. Best vehicle ever.

I ordered the very second it became available for 80k. Just couldn't afford it at 100k. There seems to be an order backlog or at least a delivery bottleneck. I know a few people are getting lucky by ordering one that is already in inventory somewhere, but I think for the majority of orders...

Alaska 360 mile delivery drive home
