Cybertruck vault leak in rain: a bit disappointing

Another one. Excellent psyche!? Good considering pressure washers are able to force water into places most rain would not be able to go. - ÆCIII

    EVs are dead

As others (and Elon also) have said, hydrogen is difficult to contain without leakage. Considering it's the lightest element we know so far, that's not surprising. But that characteristic combined with it being highly flammable is enough to make me want to stay away from it. I noticed a...

    Gloss Grey Cybertruck Wrap

From the short clip looks like a decent job, but that has never been my color. I've seen it up close on many other cars, and it doesn't appeal that much to me. I see it as an attractive finish for those wanting to be different or whatever. To me it just looks like glossy primer. To each...

    Disrespect

I think some remarks are more a light-hearted reference to the stainless steel. I wouldn't get too caught up in it. One can always say "Yes, but my refrigerator does 0-60 in record times, can raise and lower itself, and is impenetrable by many types of small arms munitions!" If in the future...

    Nema 14-50 charge rate.

From my experience with other Teslas, it will sometimes start out low and climb but usually stay stable (if the power source itself is stable). You were at an RV park, so it's uncertain how stable their power was. Your current/power variations were likely not caused by the Cybertruck. Your...

    EVs are dead

Hydrogen is an even worse sustainability process for local distribution, than delivering diesel with tanker trucks. Serious costs of heavy storage tanks with safety concerns, not to mention the costs and wastes of energy producing it, along with the expense of distributing it. If hydrogen was...

Just Got VIN assigned... so on the fence...

Gas trucks have much less range when towing too, only they can be refilled more quickly - but also much more expensively. You also have inferior performance with a gas truck whether towing or not. The main Achilles heel of the Cybertruck is in fact, Long Distance Towing range. For purposes of...

Cybertruck vault leak in rain: a bit disappointing

They do mention things in the Owners Manual like the 'Wade Mode' is limited to 30 minutes or less: So I actually thought something about the tonneau cover's waterproof or 'IP ingress protection mode' specification, like IP54 or something, might possibly be in there somewhere too. :unsure...

Cybertruck vault leak in rain: a bit disappointing

For some reason your Cybertruck Owners Manual reference didn't show up in your post. I'm sure you can fix it though. We'll wait. - ÆCIII

Cybertruck vault leak in rain: a bit disappointing

As previously noted in a video from MyCyberLife, and in this recent video from DblCapCrimpin, the tonnoeau cover does a good job of keeping water out: Semantics aside, it's obvious Tesla intended to keep things inside dry as possible when the tonneau cover is closed. Any water getting in past...

Congratulations! Great pictures, but the first one is in a class by itself. - ÆCIII

Edmunds picks Ford Lightning again as EV Truck of the Year for 2024

Got Invite - Torn on Ordering

I was thinking longer term ownership than that, keeping a Cybertruck for cost of ownership savings. I think many keep their Teslas longer because even older ones legacy still can't touch. The four to five year point I referenced because that's when Tesla ownership really starts to save money...

Got Invite - Torn on Ordering

Cybertruck is a long term investment like many vehicles. You're no doubt familiar with Tesla's technology, the toughness, and low cost of ownership long term. People in videos are also say it rides and drives quite well. You're not just paying for a 'truck' as it has serious performance and...

⚡️ F-150 Lighting Owner REACTS to CYBERTRUCK 📐

One of the best parts in the video was the steer-by-wire tight u-turn. Somehow the video showed it from a cool perspective with the outside scenery kind of spinning around as the Cybertruck made the u-turn. Interesting note about the UV and vault plastic starting to fade. Wondering if some...

Station runs out of petrol/diesel but not electrons!

The major advantage of electrical infrastructure is that once it's installed it provides a continuous delivery of energy with very little maintenance. Contrast that with gas stations which require a constant refill by tanker trucks. In sparsely populated areas of a a large country like...

Towing 5700 lbs medium sized camper results w/ Cyberbeast Cybertruck

I had searched on '5700 lbs', but didn't search on 'camper'. Figured that '5700' would've been used though since it was in the owner's video title. But we're now merged into the original thread. Thanks @Administrator ! - ÆCIII

Towing 5700 lbs medium sized camper results w/ Cyberbeast Cybertruck

My takeaway is that weight is a drag or decrease on range of any vehicle whether it's in the vehicle or being pulled. I think recent towing tests are reminding us that weight (and aerodynamic drag) isn't pulled without energy cost, as expected. What we're also seeing, is that the power and...
