Case for the 800 mile Cybertruck

You see the new stealth fighter looking 2023 model yet?

Winch - What is the priority?

Looking at the 220amp draw for the 24v version of the Stallion 25k winch I posted about, I see why people would want to go 24 volt, plus a lot of people who off road run dual batteries (in Jeeps and trucks), so it would be not hard to run a 24v winch. Now, just need a way to get 24v and the amp...

Winch - What is the priority?

Talk about a pricey and capable winch Warn has made. Though I just recently read about a Sherpa (Stallion 25k), not as popular here in the US that I have seen, it does seem capable (from reading a review and spec sheet). I know people who off road regularly that swear by warn, others by...

Case for the 800 mile Cybertruck

I have heard once a year, maybe even once every 6 months do a recharge to full 100%, if you are really cycling the battery hard by draining it very low for the cell-balancing you mention.

Number of Cybertrucks manufactured per year

Patents expiring are HUGE. Many companies will now be willing to invest, knowing they will not have to pay someone, but hopefully patent some improvement that others will think is worth it to pay to license.

Case for the 800 mile Cybertruck

Its good it suits your style, but for me, I would rather not wait, get backon the road, than stop again, and for less than the time it takes to charge the last 10% (usually 20-30 minutes on most EVs I have seen tested on State of Charge by Tom Moloughney), I will charge up and arrive with more...

Number of Cybertrucks manufactured per year

I think they will make them as fast as they can, allowing for upgrades, adding additional shifts, etc. They need to get solar covered parking, would help charge the cars. Also, I see a tunnel to Houston and/or Galveston for more ship base shipping. Not sure why they would need a tunnel to the...

The Cybertruck is at least another year away

I am playing to wait to see, because there is 'IN' production, mass production, or starting production. I believe he said they would be 'IN' production in 12 months and the interview was actually shot like a month ago or more now?

    Q2 2022

Hey, how about compare their 26% increase since the same quarter last year to the other companies decline of 14 to 20% since the same quarter from last year, which was done from the quarter before that... what? Don't want to make legacy car manufactures look that bad?

    Q2 FUD is abounding today

If you have the money to say you only want a car another 100,000 people have instead of a couple of million, because then your car is a little more special... that is your money, you can do that. Me, I want the features I need and some I want. Model 3 was never going to be a car for me, but it...

Case for the 800 mile Cybertruck

Why charge more than you need (besides a reasonable buffer) to get to the next charging location? The reason people fill gas tanks is because the time to fill is trivial. When they choose to not fill up, it is due to cost. With EVs, it is the opposite, the time to fill is the thing, while the...

What if a Cybertruck and Tesla Semi Marry

The RV I want is a custom coach built on top of a Tesla SEMI. Given that they can cost $0.5 to $1 million, I think $250-300k for the semi, then paying a coach builder another $250-750k seems well within range of the market.

Winch - What is the priority?

Thanks for taking the time. Still not sure I understand it at a gut level, but I understand what you said and how that would look on an oscilloscope.

Winch - What is the priority?

If you look at the wave form diagram that I linked to, you see that from the peak of one wave to the lowest point of the either other phase, the total difference is 1.5. If the peak from zero (base line) is 120 volts, then 120 * 1.5 = 180 volts. If from the base line to the peak is 240v, then...

Winch - What is the priority?

I am a motorcyclist, my last trip was about 8 states, one of which was Texas, and from leaving my garage to returning to it I put 2,696 miles on the odometer. If I had not gotten COVID between Conroe, TX and Shreveport, LA, the trip would have been over 3,000 miles. People can be stupid...

Tesla designed Hydraulic winch option on all 4 corner

I have worked on high pressure hydraulic systems and I do not want hydraulics if it can be avoided. I could see a need for disk brakes, but maybe some day someone will create electric disk brakes?

First song / music list you'll blast upon delivery of Cybertruck?

There are many greats and I am sure my choices will evolve over time. I am sure it will include Led Zeppelin, Faith No More, Guns N Roses, Metallica, Doors, lots of 80s, Synth wave, techno, house, and many other genres I probably do not know the name to... But when it comes to I Feel Love, for...

Cybertruck Press (9000 Ton IDRA Giga Press) being assembled! [Confirmed by Elon Musk] 🍿

Considering we are talking 22 shipping containers, not sure you would be able to 'sneak' those from the Houston port to Austin at the Tesla factory and go unnoticed... but since it does break down into shipping containers, no holes in ceiling nor wall needed, lost of entrances that would...

    Battery Progress

It doesn't say that, but many people, not reading carefully and paying close attention, could walk away with that. Average reading comprehension is probably higher here, but still not that high... and sometimes I read these forums late at night when my reading comprehension is not at its best.
