That site seems a little suspect and the rendering quality is terrible... looks like a high school graphics class project. Hope it's legit, though. More competition is always good.
I love the idea of FSD for some scenarios including trips. I also have a son that may never drive, so having full FSD would provide freedom to both of us... but, without other manufacturers pushing as hard as Tesla, I wonder if/when it will truly be a fully working product.
I understand that...
Initially was a little unsure, which is why I didn't jump right in... but now, it makes all other pickups (including my Ram EcoDiesel) look dated. After I saw the estimated time until my Tri-Motor would be delivered, I thought about switching to a Rivian, but now it just doesn't look 'cool' or...
Right, but there have never been 'in stock' vehicles that I'm aware of. An order that was cancelled or rejected, just went to the next pre-order in line... as far as I know. This indicates, maybe because of the virus/employment/economy, that several people cancelled and there aren't others...
The Telsa location in my city now has Model 3's 'in stock' to order and pickup... I can order a performance and pick it up the next day. Wonder if that will way on earnings or is a sign of slow sales?
Crab mode to me is like tank mode on the rivian... maybe there would be a use for it, but very rarely... that said, I think it would be cool to have :)
Or, instead of paying to jump in line, we could rent a PO Box from a UPS store in Austin and update our address on our preorder... Just thinkin' out of the box here.
One point of interest on the Y... I had been considering ordering one to use until my CT arrives and on Friday of last week, an estimated delivery date showed '2-4' weeks. Very short, IMO, but I thought maybe they had a lull in sales like the others. On Monday, the time frame changed to 10-14...
Personally, I would have preferred the deposit be a bit higher. Right now, the google spreadsheet guestimate has me getting my tri-motor in 2023. If I was certain it would be nearly 3 years, I might get a MY to drive in the meantime... but that estimate could be way off... maybe a full year or...
Give it some time... that's the first step to 're imagining' what a truck should look like. Could redefine the look of the truck segment altogether over the long term.
Does anyone know if the spreadsheet discounts orders placed outside the US when trying to determine delivery date? I know this spreadsheet is a WAG based on several well thought out 'assumptions', but looking thru the explanations, I can't tell if the orders from other countries besides the US...
One thing the 700 mile range would provide for is better options to spend less but still get 500 miles. :)
I think a modular battery pack for longer trips is an interesting idea. I don't like the idea of them being pulled behind or part of a trailer, but having a pack that can be put in the...
