I might have missed something but where are you getting those payload numbers from? The average Crew Cab 1500 pickup has a payload more like 1500-2000 pounds. Every ounce of weight added to the vehicle (power seats, heated seats, whacking great battery packs) as well as a suspension with high...
Gun nerd time! 45ACP is famously non-penetrating due to its wide meplat and short depth combined with shorter case and lower charge, however it does carry significantly more energy out of a 16” barrel from a rifle than 9mm does out of a typical 4” handgun barrel. Originally Elon said bulletproof...
I was going to say this has been debunked, but that’s not fair. Those CT dimensions are estimated from the prototype, which we now know is larger than production CT.
The F150’s seat is slightly forward but in a normal position, my wife sits there like that every time we go out in the truck. I’m looking at the B pillars for reference.
It looks like both passenger seats are pretty similar at the B pillar. The F150 has a massive backseat though, and seat geometry also matters. My 5 year old can kick the back of our Navigator seats but she can’t reach the F150 passenger seat. My theory is the final CT is more or less the same...
All GM large vehicles for starters offer this as an option, both SUV’s and Trucks and have for a couple years. This wouldn’t be mind blowing new technology by any means, and it would likely be necessary given the design of the vault.
So you’re saying your ICE gasoline Jeep was literally frozen solid and could not be started or driven, but your model Y worked well in the same conditions? Sounds totally legit.
I think you’re absolutely right. CT will be a 5 seater, likely a tweener like the R1T, which isn’t a bad move as there’s little competition in that space so far.
Agreed. It’s extremely similar to what a Chrysler Pacifica has in that space, a plastic channel that holds a bag and keeps loose items from rolling under the driver’s feet.
Adjustable steering is necessary regardless of the position of the display, for reach and driver preference and comfort. The best place for it is on a HUD on the windshield, maybe that’ll be a tech package option.
