Another feature we haven't seen on the new prototype is the vault cover.
Some of the shots clearly show the rails, but I find it interesting none of them show the truck with the vault cover closed.
Randomly picking a year isn't rational its rhetorical.
2025 is definitely in the realm of plausibility, but I would lean toward '24 as being the most likely first high volume year assuming these chip fabs come online in time and solve their supply issues.
My hope is that the extra time to focus on factory tooling without having production running will allow the Cybertruck to ramp production when it does start up with fewer self-inflicted headaches.
Only hearing 250k as an aspirational target does make me feel like CT is a lot harder to make then...
The interior space under the glass is going to be a lot more then an f150 because of the sloped glass so I would think a lot of the equipment you mention would occupy more of that space and less of the 'frunk' area.
Just my guess though.
I do hope some variation of the sails make it too production. I was planning on installing HD Video RF receivers for my UAV's there.
If they are gone my second best bet is mounting them to the gate and just dropping it when needed, but that will interfere with a lot of other use cases....
The front area goes through a lot of safety testing, so I don't think I will be doing much if any modifications to it other then adding the legally required WA plate (going to make the front look so ugly :()
I agree with you, This version doesn't have any separations on the top seam or the bottom seam of the sail which make it highly unlikely that sails are present on this version. However we also haven't seen the tonneau cover closed either so it might not be feature complete?
Agreed, putting the battery up front with the passengers would be extremely counter-intuitive with only downsides. Not sure where the authors misplaced confidence comes from.
I think his point was that people who pre-ordered multiple CT's to flip for profit have a longer window with the new FSD price increases considering the only way to profit off of FSD is through a private sale. Assuming people pre-ordered @ the 7k mark they now have a 5k 'advantage' over new...
I thought this might be the case too, but the rear roof panel shrinks a little too much for me too think this is the case, atleast on this variant of CT
I don't think the bed ends that close to the vault cover based on the overhang visible in a lot of the images. I personally think it looks like the bed ends closer to the end of the rear passenger window (C Pillar area) and not the top vault closing.
'likely' is in the words 'highly likely', so sure you can have your pedantic re-quote but it doesn't changes my statement at all. Elon is over-optimiist
Quote from elon is more then enough to form an opinion until proven otherwise, but okay. Your not big on having fact based discussions, thats...
Chances are the original CT will only exist in NA, with a 'likely' smaller variant for the EU market. It was absolutely designed for the US if we remember an old quote from Elon.
"We’re really, fundamentally making this truck as a North American ass-kicker, basically. The goal is to kick the...
4 independent motors allow the truck to do true torque vectoring which will give significant benefits over simple AWD + LSD for stability and traction control.
Rear-wheel steering will help the truck control trailer sway, reduce excessive lateral force on occupants during sharp turns and...
Everyone who pre-ordered a CT agreed to the following terms that state both final configuration and final pricing will be finalized at a later date.
1) Vehicle Configuration: The Vehicle Configuration will be confirmed with you at a later date. It will describe the vehicle that you configure...
This would be problematic imo. Model S Plaid demand is weak compared to the rest of the Tesla lineup (You can take delivery same month vs. 6+ months later on other models) and has nowhere near as much volume of production as a result. If Tesla is in fact trying to accelerate adoption of...
