It is normal when truck is new. It appears to be the sealant they use. Best way to get rid of it is to leave the smugglers bay door open whenever possible. My CT is 6 months old. I still smell it whenever I open that bay.
The All-Weather mats do a similar outgassing.
Serious Question: If, by our activation, they can get data to make FSD better, does that only work if we actually use FSD? I LOVE the Autopark feature, when I had the 1 month free trial. I really don't trust FSD. So I'd rater not use it. But is there other metrics Tesla can glean from just...
I think the plan on the RWD CT is to cut as much as possible to make it less expensive to manufacture. That's step one. Step two is to offer it at a lower price; but not as low as your cuts warrant. Step 3 comes after the initial RWD sales start to dwindle. That's when you lower the RWD to match...
I wonder if there's way they can remove the existing Cantrails without damaging them. Then presumably they could refurbish them, by adding the Stud. Seems a waste to throw out the old ones. But then, maybe labor costs to take them off in a way that preserves them might be more costly than new...
Well that explains a lot. After carefully reading through the recall statement, Tesla believes that while any CTs currently on the road could experience deamination of the cantrails; they expect that perhaps only 1% of all vehicles would experience it actually coming off. Seems like temperature...
it'd be nice if this was split into two separate threads. I'm glad that there will be some competition in this type accessory. It has alredy become confusing when hearing prices as to which are for Space Camper vs Urander....
I recently started getting a smell inside the cab when driving. It's sort of a melting/burning plastic smell, which I know is something to be concerned about. But it would help when scheduling a SC appointment if I had a better idea of what's going on. Here's some details:
•I'm an older 2024 VIN...
Agrred. They make interlock plates that can be installed. But the Generator breaker must be right next to the main in the panel. With the right plate, you can't engage the generator's breaker without first killing the main. Hire an electrician, to make sure it's done correctly.
Depending on how "hardball" you want to play, Take some fertilizer and write on their grass with it. something like "I suck D**k". be creative. It will grow a little greener than the rest of the grass...
My concern, while waiting to see if this is a widespread issue (or not), is that I want to attach a Ham Radio Antenna using a Trunk Lip mount (like a Diamond K9000TM)., on these pieces. Due to air resistance on the antenna, there would be increased loads on that glue joint. Part of me says the...
In the PNW, electricity rates are quite low for home charging ($0.1026/kWh). But SC charge $0.40~$0.49 here. One reason I came across is that our local utility charges "public" EV chargers $0.40/kWh. Maybe that's because of high demand loads. Or maybe because they can get away with it.
This thread brings back a happy memory for me. I'd been driving my wife's MY recently. And I'd gotten used to turning her fog lights on/off by voice. Then I was driving my CT. Without thinking, I used voice to try to turn on the fog lights (I actually didn't know CT didn't have them standard)...
I might have a fix for your problem. Mine had a problem latching when I first got it. I'll explain the way it works, and how mine was missing a part. BUT NOTE, mine is a third-party model. So Tesla may have designed there's differently. The issue with it not latching is that when you latch it...
My keycards were not working. After a few of you posted that their's started to work again, I re-tried mine today. Vola! they now work. I'm on firmware 2024.45.25.15 (same as what I had when the keycards did not work). Go figure...
After reading all these problems with the B-Pillar reader, I needed to set up a tesla ring for my CT & wife's MY. Same result as others here. Everything works on MY. but none of our keycards nor the tesla ring work on the CT.
Sounds like no good reason to schedule a service appointment until we...
Maybe it's a Bug. But for me, I wonder if that means we now have Autosteer for CT? I haven't had it. And I'm on trial version of FSD. My wife's MY has autosteer but not my CT. I'll have to test this.
Update (1/21/25):
It appears that Autosteer is not available to non-FSD. I have a trial of FSD...
