Anyone know if "boat mode" is just for wading through water or also to be used when there are heavy rains and the vehicle is kicking up water into the underside.
Is the battery compartment water proof enough for that? Curious where the line is drawn between regular usage in rain and snow versus...
I doubt it will be possible to handle the various state laws that govern side view mirrors. There is an awesome compilation of the laws at this link:
At the very least if the rear view mirror is obstructed - the side view mirrors are a requirement. Trying to convince a cop may not be worth the...
I run 48v DC at my house. All fans and lights are 48v powered. For the longest time I was searching for a 48v to USB 3.1 convertor I could wire to replace plugs. For the most part laptops/phones and a lot of accessories are using USB for power. There is 48v Power Over Ethernet - but USB seemed...
There is speculation that tent mode allows the truck to self level itself. Also the Basecamp accessory is from Heimplanet.
Snippets from the 'net indicate that HVAC access to the bed would not be very efficient and is not an option - meaning rear window does not go down.
Still awaiting...
MKBHD seemed to indicate that it does not - it was very brief though. Hoping to get better clarity. Perhaps details of what "Tent Mode" can also clarify that question?
Here is the tent description - in case anyone is interested:
DESCRIPTION
BRING YOUR CAMPSITE WITH YOU ON THE ROAD. FEATURING AN ULTRA-LIGHT, GEODESIC AIR-FRAME DESIGN, THE CYBERTRUCK BASECAMP TENT CAN BE INFLATED IN MINUTES USING A MANUAL PUMP WITHOUT THE NEED FOR ANY STRUCTURAL POLES. A...
Just saw the tent accessory and there is a reference to a "Tent mode". Maybe we will be allowed to see what that means in the display model.... one can dream right?
The cyber truck could "self level" itself - if I am understanding how the suspension works. I wonder if they support that? It would be useful for a "camp mode" or for anything else.
I just saw MKBHD review and it looks like the mid-gate does not go down. Would it be possible to find out if the software allows for camp mode? If so, it will be interesting to know what it supports or means in the Cybertruck. I suspect that it may not be present... but a confirmation would be nice!
If anyone is headed soon - before Friday - can you ask the folks at the store if we will be allowed to enter the vehicle after Thursday please? Thanks!!!
Interesting you should put it that way - Elon does not bug me. I see him as a much needed face to my generation - we are mere months apart in age. I continue to have the greatest respect for what he has accomplished and freshness he brings to problems.
Having said that - it is impractical to...
Yup we are in similar situation. My X is getting long in the tooth and I would like a truck for the extra space. EV is certainly the way to go. However, I am getting wary of Tesla Service as the company has gotten so much bigger and I expect that there will be dilution and/or a lot more variance...
@ÆCIII - the dream is still fresh and alive for some of us. Maybe mine will rekindle when the cyber truck becomes real.
I aint holding my breath anymore, which (of course) is my personal take.
Yeah bleeding edge may not be for me anymore... :)
I continue to love how Tesla came up with a refreshing new ways of making and selling cars - continues to innovate. The scale of people and the resulting "corporate culture", to me, means they are becoming another legacy company.
Maybe BYD is...
Hear me out - I have an X with a mid-4 digit VIN. It had its issues in the beginning but we still enjoyed (and continue to do so!) the whole experience. Maybe because the volume of cars was small back then and service centers had the bandwidth to help us when needed.
Unfortunately I am getting...
