  1. Idea Of The Day

I wish Musk would consider this concept

The only thing I don't like about the center screen is needing to turn right for the current speed, which ideally would be superimposed on the windshield like an Air Force jet. The key advantage in the center screen is that it's a touch screen, so both driver and passenger can reach it.

Tesla should contact customers in RESERVATION # ORDER, regardless of motor choice... right?

As long as those runs are not up to a year apart, I'm safe keeping my reservation where it is, but if there's a significant delay for dual, I want to be offered a chance to upgrade before somebody else with a later reservation in the same area is contacted.

Tesla should contact customers in RESERVATION # ORDER, regardless of motor choice... right?

I drive a 2016 F-150 that cost me $58,000, with 70,000 miles and a 100,000 mile warranty. At the time I posted this, my F-150 suddenly threw a message on the dashboard and was towed to the dealer. I'm not fond of dealers, but the warranty is only covered if they fix it. They said it's...
  4. Idea Of The Day

Another new detail: Cybertruck has a camera below its front bumper

That's one of the biggest problems for me as an F-150 driver, not only is there NO standard front camera, but there isn't even a standard sensor to warn you if you're about to hit something in front of you. My truck is so tall, I can't even see a huge garbage can unless it's a few feet ahead of...
  5. Idea Of The Day

Tesla should contact customers in RESERVATION # ORDER, regardless of motor choice... right?

Until they're clear on the timeframes, I won't take the chance, especially if they end up making dual and tri around the same time. If they end up saying the dual is a much longer wait, I hope they give us the opportunity to change without losing our place in line.
  6. Idea Of The Day

    Front Bumpers + License Plates

I agree. I think the rear camera photo should be clear, most of the time, but since each bad photo costs them up to $21, they rely on that second photo. The long term solution for tolls should be some sort of mandatory electronic identification tag. I know a lot of people who don't trust them...
  7. Idea Of The Day

Tesla should contact customers in RESERVATION # ORDER, regardless of motor choice... right?

You're taking what I said too literally. They should definitely manage the reservations based on region, but if my next door neighbor orders a CyberTruck with a tri-motor nearly a year after I ordered a dual, he shouldn't get to order his first, just because he chose tri-motor. If a tri motor...
  8. Idea Of The Day

    Front Bumpers + License Plates

Unfortunately, license plate scanning is now being used for toll collection and speed / red light cameras, so I think the remaining 31 states aren't likely to change in the near future. Most of the bridges and tunnels in the New York / New Jersey area are cashless. Rather than require all...
  9. Idea Of The Day

Another new detail: Cybertruck has a camera below its front bumper

In New York City, that could prove to be a daily event. As I mentioned in another topic, I just hope they come up with something that blends in and doesn't look out of place. After all, there are 31 states that require a front plate, so why not design a place for it? Corvettes in the 70s had...
  10. Idea Of The Day

Another new detail: Cybertruck has a camera below its front bumper

This ties into the post about front bumper license plates. That camera position definitely means the front license plate won't be mounted on the bumper. It will need to bolt on to the stainless steel above the bumper.
  11. Idea Of The Day

Name your top 5 reasons why you pre-ordered a Cybertruck

    1. Reliability… None of the traditional things to break (No tune ups, radiator leaks, transmission problems, rough engine / exhaust, etc.0 2. The Vault with retractable / lockable cover. I HATE the cheesy roll ups on my F-150. 3. Stainless steel body. No paint, no clear coat to wax or get...
  12. Idea Of The Day

Tesla should contact customers in RESERVATION # ORDER, regardless of motor choice... right?

I read somewhere that they could be building some in Fremont while they wait for the Texas factory to be completed. https://www.benzinga.com/tech/21/03/20394947/rumor-teslas-cybertruck-could-begin-production-in-june
  13. Idea Of The Day

    Front Bumpers + License Plates

All trucks should have them, even if they’re not used often. I think they look great too.
  14. Idea Of The Day

Tesla should contact customers in RESERVATION # ORDER, regardless of motor choice... right?

I spoke to two people at the local Tesla office. Both said the change would basically become a new reservation number. I've read some say it won't, but I'm not willing to risk changing my position, especially since there is still no way to know if the dual motors will be nearly a year later...
  15. Idea Of The Day

Tesla should contact customers in RESERVATION # ORDER, regardless of motor choice... right?

Having fewer choices is one of the things I LOVE about Tesla. Mosts models have only a few choices. Motor, inside / outside color, wheels and Full Self Driving. If you walk through the inventory of a large Ford dealer, you'll find F-150s ranging from $30,000 to over $100,000, with just about...
  16. Idea Of The Day

Tesla should contact customers in RESERVATION # ORDER, regardless of motor choice... right?

This wouldn't be as big of an issue if they didn't change the priority AFTER the reservations were made. Those who wanted the fastest delivery chose the one they thought would be delivered first.
  17. Idea Of The Day

    Front Bumpers + License Plates

Good catch. Mounting wenches only leads to trouble. The trouble with the license plate is they're likely to drill some ugly holes near the center. I'd love to see a recessed place for it someplace, sort of like the old Corvettes from the 70s. It looked perfectly integrated in the bumpers...
  18. Idea Of The Day

Tesla should contact customers in RESERVATION # ORDER, regardless of motor choice... right?

Yes. And while we're waiting for the Texas factory to be completed, they're welcome to use my backyard.
  19. Idea Of The Day

    Front Bumpers + License Plates

Right now, there are 31 states that require front license plates, yet every single car out there has a super sloppy looking front license plate that is crudely bolted directly into the bumper, or has a cheap plastic frame that looks totally out of place. I hope Tesla puts some effort into...
  20. Idea Of The Day

Tesla should contact customers in RESERVATION # ORDER, regardless of motor choice... right?

I'm banking on exactly that. I don't mind if they decide to make the more profitable tri-motor models first. I just want to be given the chance to upgrade to the tri-motor if that turns out to save me an extra year of waiting. I once paid a dealer $5000 OVER sticker price for a new 2002...
