I don't think there will be a midgate from all the more educated person's reviews of the data available so far. But, I wouldn't be surprised if the rear window doesn't slide down, Ala Tayota Tundra style. And, I'd be really happy with that.
Tophat of the tailgate should be plastic. They are plastic for most pickups. That's because so many long items (2x4's,plumbing pipes, etc) are placed inside the bed that rest in the top of the tailgate. The top hat being plastic allows for it to be easily and cheaply replaced if it gets...
I had a 97 Trans-Am and it had a long shopping front windshield, a long sloping rear window, and glass T-tops. Everyone claimed it would have heart retention issues. But, I never had an issue. Of course, I had all except the front windshield tinted with reflective tint. And, the Tesla's all have...
I'm being they just wrapped one of the alpha trucks. I can't imagine this being one produced in Austin. So, I'm thinking it is one of the trucks we've all seen images of previously - just with a wrap on it.
Most people have no idea how to use a turn signal anyway! Most seem to believe it should only be used once they begin their lane change which is so late it is absolutely useless anyway.
I'm hoping for a third party equipment company to create a signal stalk that can be programmed for whatever...
I would love to see this on the cybertruck. I also think that it will be a much lower cost braking system. And, if Tesla can roll this out on the Cyber truck and or Highland Edition they will have some experience before rolling it out on their low-cost Mexican made every man car. For that car to...
So, I'm not going to bother clicking on a link unless there is a summary in the op below the link. Secondly, this does not appear to be an EV ... so come I don't understand the word competition. Just looks like some clickbait to me. If I wanted news about gas operated trucks I would be in a gas...
I'm sure you were just joking!
But, for those who check this out - the bungie cords and the two "rings" on either side that are hooked to the center are likely just for the test. The bungies might be holding a test sensor in place and the other things holding arms to the truck in case they...
I care little about "overall" storage. My main concern is the bedsize. I need to be able to load sheetrock and plywood flat in the bed. Anything else is great. But, without that ability the rest of the storage is meaningless.
"which was absurdly huge." Nope, I disagree. The original CT dimensions were pretty much the average of the dimensions of the big 3 (Ford, Chevy, Ram) regular half ton pickups. Among people who use trucks for work that is "the standard"/normal size and is not "huge." Those trucks all have beds...
If Tesla goes with a Rivian sized truck they will be discarding one of the largest truck buying segments in the US:
Government and business truck sales. They use regular full size half ton pickups in the US for most every fleet of work trucks. The beds in these trucks have a pretty standard...
If there is a screen for the rear passengers... I'll, most likely, remove it. If I leave it in place it'll just get damaged for no reason other than someone moving a powertool and accidentally banging into it. I have ZERO use case for a rear passenger screen!
18:50 continues through 21:53 and beyond.
Wiring size being smaller equals weight savings. Smaller modules. Smaller wiring harnesses. No need for a 12v battery/conversion to 12v. Weights savings cascade to the requirements for the rest of the vehicle.
I'm just holding out for the CT to remain a full sized truck (can fit six people and can stack sheet plywood flat in the bed) and not a midsized truck ( anything that can't stack plywood in the back).
I agree the truck looks good!
LOL Consensus! I think the CT will use 48v wiring! It is over of the MASSIVE cost saving measures to keep the price down!
IMHO (and, that of Sandy Monro) - using 48V wiring will have a huge trickle down effect on production costs. So, Tesla would be stupid NOT to use 48V wiring.
