  1. Range getting better and better

I'm not saying nerf anything. Utilizing factory AS tires would give plenty of payload for most people and be a better on-road tire than pretty much an AT tire. As you say, we need a tire for our individual use cases. Most people don't fall into needing good off-road tires or the most payload...
  2. Range getting better and better

Yeah we are, I was giving an example there of what would do it there. For all trucks it is pretty rare that people even get close to these capabilities.
  3. Range getting better and better

I stated payload, which people have a misconception of bed… but is all weight (including people). No vehicle is rated solely in the bed for payload and those amounts are a lot. Vast majority of people won’t approach those weights.
  4. Range getting better and better

I acknowledged that lower rating. I'm saying that the vast majority of people will never approach those load ratings with the AS tires (2000lbs is quite a bit of payload) and that compromise is worth it if you primarily drive on-road. There are AS tires with higher load ratings too. All tires...
  5. Range getting better and better

I 100% agree all tires are a compromise and they need to be tailored to each use case. Never a one-sized fits all situation. I personally took off the AS tires ASAP since I deal with a lot of snow, ice, and ~20% of my miles are off pavement. I wouldn't want them for any of those situations...
  6. Range getting better and better

IMO the OEM ATs are not that good of a tire. The more I've been around it, the worse they are. They are about the bare minimum of off road traction to qualify as an AT. They absolutely suck in the snow and ice. On the pavement, they are not nearly as good of tire as the AS. They are also heavy...
  7. Range getting better and better

I have the core wheels with aftermarket ATs. I have a trip I make every couple weeks that is about 450mi. The core wheel covers vs open wheel with a center cap is about 6% more efficient at ~80-85mph with what I've experienced. Enough where I keep the core covers on now. In my experience two...
  8. Big PR boost for the Cybertruck - Gang from Always Sunny Approves

I doubt it helps any sales... they were making fun of it and using it as a punch line. The episode was pretty great though.
  9. Rattle from top dash

I have a rattle in that area just below the pillar glass. I'm 99% sure it is the defrost vent and when I tap in the middle of the mesh I can make the exact noise. Mine is worse on the passenger side vs the drivers, but both will do it. Going to have it tied into my next service visit at some...
  10. What happened with the Cybertruck dream of the 2M reservation holders? [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS]

Really depends on the version of Supercharger, but 20-70 should not take 30 minutes on a V3+ (V4 dispenser on V3 cabinet). It is about 24 minutes per Out of Spec's charging test (which is outdated and slightly slower than today... I have seen around 22). On a older V3, you're in the realm of...
  11. What happened with the Cybertruck dream of the 2M reservation holders? [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS]

It was the same thing with Model 3 deposits back in the day. Many don't actually convert into sales. At the very peak you had influencers and Turo people having 20+ deposits. That was never going to happen and inflated the numbers. Along with that you had a large number of deposits outside NA...
  12. Do the OEM All-Terrain Tires Warrant a Recall?

All tires are compromise. Look at the factory all terrains as about the lowest tier of all terrains that you can get with ~40% of their tread shaved off. They are not K02s or anything like that sort of tire. Very much an on-road focused AT with a heavy range focus and with the tread depth, you...
  13. Tire replacement recommendations for foundation series?

I think so, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and we all have bad taste around here. :ROFLMAO:
  14. Tire replacement recommendations for foundation series?

I use the core covers for long distance trips, but I’d assume you mean then AT covers. Yes but the sidewalls won’t have the sculpting to match.
  15. Cybertruck can now charge up to 325kW on select V4 Superchargers!

The V4 cable is limited to ~105kW when the immersion cable cooling is down. That is likely the reason for any limitation on a V4 pedestal (though some bugs exist still). Generally any amount over 250kW or 325kW right now is due other usage in the vehicle. Tesla will send those amounts to the...
  16. Tire replacement recommendations for foundation series?

I could be wrong, but I think the OEM Goodyear is 10/32" tread depth while the Nokians (and most standard ATs) are 18/32". It is night and day in that area, which is also partially why the OEM tires won't come close to lasting 50k mi. I'd agree the Territory RTs are more of a toughened up all...
  17. Tire replacement recommendations for foundation series?

For the street the Michelin Defender will be a nicer tire to drive than the OEM Goodyears. They are different sorts of tires though. The Defender Platinum is an all season tire that really tries to look like an AT tire (and has some compromise for that) while the Goodyears are an all terrain...
  18. Tire replacement recommendations for foundation series?

All tires are simply compromises, and the OEM tires are a reflection of that (IMO Tesla prioritizes efficiency above all else on their tires and will sacrifice outlier performance very quickly... off road and performance models really show this). My friend who got a FSCT let me take his out and...
  19. Service Appt to swap a wireless charger = entirely new HV battery

The majority of the time these engineering studies are done, is when they have found a potential issue in a run and they want to see how extensive the issue is. The Cybertruck has had a number of these ranging from basically nothing to legit issues. Worth keeping an eye on, but at the same point...
  20. Tire replacement recommendations for foundation series?

It is true a ply don’t exists like that anymore and it is an approximation of what those used to mean. So while the layers don’t exist like they have in the past, it is still typical that a higher ply tire resists puncture better than a lower rated. Now I didn’t say definitively, I said should…...
