I dream as much as anybody in what a product can be, but buy a product for what it is today. Anything that improves is just a plus. Tesla has really spoiled their customers with continually improving their cars, but that has typically not been the norm in the auto market. What you buy is what...
I've had minor issues with my dual motor, but mostly in a dash rattle they won't fix (the vent for the little front windows) and the bass drum door. Relatively minor all things considered. 3 service visits and one of those was for the recall.
I do think the idea of paying more for a vehicle...
I run 15mm D weatherstripping along the back edge of the bed floor, then shove in a piece of foam under the trunk handle. I frequently travel Colorado/New Mexico dusty roads and it stops that vast majority of dust. I still get some, but it is manageable. The worst now is from the trunk lid and...
4-7% the first year and 1-3% each year after would roughly be within normal (and years 2-3 on the higher end). Batteries tend to degrade the quickest within the first 5-10k mi/12-18 months and then degrade at a much lower rate after that. Now there are tons of factors that go into all of this...
You'll never get anything that is absolutely sealed DIY. You can make it resistant.
The main source of water intrusion is where the tonneau cover meets the roof. Stock (with all the slats, which for early owners if iffy), it is pretty good. You can add a little rubber piece to extend from the...
Voltage makes a difference. Higher volts, means less amps... which means handle/port temps don't throttle. Standard V3s will throttle due to amperage rather quickly. V3+ throttle, but takes a lot longer. To get >325kW with the CT, you have to use an 800v capable charger.
FYI this was the first...
The owners manual would have that correct, and I stand corrected. More than that would not be advised. So would then depend on the compressor and amperage draw it has.
I'd be worried about the amperage. It depends on your 12v compressor, but some are 30+ amps. The trailer 12v source doesn't have wiring that can support 30 amps... or really even 20. The USB ports don't come close that wattage. You'd be best off getting a 120v AC to 12v DC convertor and running...
It isn't uncommon for newly delivered Teslas to take a month or slightly more before they get an update pushed. There isn't really anything to do but wait.
These won't dramatically cut noise down. Maybe a touch, but the primary sources of noise with our truck are the tires, windshield and mirrors... well and the door vibrating like a bass drum. These won't solve that. They will cut the amount of dust on the sills dramatically.
If you really want...
There are many variables to that. Heat, humidity, UV exposure, etc. If you live in Arizona and keep it in the sun, probably a few months. If you garage it all the time and are in Minnesota, it might take over year until it slows enough to stop filming up.
I live in a dry, but fairly cold...
I stated exponential decay... which is slowing down at a quickening rate.
Not trying to score points, simply stating that the reason why the film happens. Tint early will absorb off gasses, tint a year or so in will make zero difference as the off gassing is mostly complete.
I have tinted windshields before and know the benefits (both of my 3s had them tinted). And I'm not saying zero benefit, I'm saying any benefits are absorption related and doesn't stop the source of the issue that is off gassing. Which that has exponential decay and will be minimal after so many...
Fall of 25, unclear when the exact change happened (Sept/Oct is a reasonable guess). In the day to day, it is such a minimal change that there was no real reason to advertise it. It is really less than the difference than the LG/Panasonic pack differences in 3/Y that is a pure lottery at this point.
There is an exponential decay component to it... so entirely possible it stops rather quickly. I know my first ~3-4 months were nearly weekly cleaning of the windshield. Then it suddenly stopped and I only clean every few months (at most) now. Tint does not stop the process, it just absorbs it...
This is likely more related to off gassing of new plastics. The first few months (and really more of a sun exposure thing) will have the plastics off gas and leave a film on the windshield and roof glass. Once that is done, the build up is minimal. CT seems to be worse because of the pure size...
