On FSD:
Based on Tesla's confidence that FSD will likely go from beta to production this year, I'm glad that I added it to my reservation when it was still $7K (assuming that the price will be honored).
Well. since then, inflation has appeared, and competitor's offerings have been released. IMO, Tesla needs to keep CT relevant and competitive (pricing and features) in the marketplace, without dragging their feet too long. It's a balancing act for sure.
Ramping up Model Y with the 4680 this year in Austin will give a good baseline of performance and honing the factory output for when the CT is eventually made. Also, Giga Austin will be better ramped up (staff training, machine calibration) by the time CT gets produced. All good things IMO.
I'm...
Honestly, I don't know if it is Alpha or Beta. Here was my logic in still calling it Alpha:
- Lineage is roughly Prototype, Alpha, Beta, Production
- This is the same vehicle type we saw spy shots and drone footage of late last year, which was different than the original prototype, i.e., Alpha...
Agreed. I think they are similar/same as the ones on the reveal prototype (I believe they were behind the Blade Runner aero covers). I might be wrong but here is a pic of the steel ball testing that shows them:
I totally agree on both points.
With GM completely recalling their only EV, and completely relying on a new unproven EV platform for their second attempt, that requires early Hummer, Lyriq, and Silverado customers to take a big leap of faith in the veracity of GM's EV technology.
I suspect some of the IPO will be used to pay off the massive and complete Bolt battery recall costs.

From the subject article, it looks like they tightened quality control though. I hope...
2025? I think you're thinking of the Silverado. I saw on their forum that people who reserved within 5 minutes of the reveal got a confirmation of a 2025 truck built in 2024. That's before any delays.
Canceled? That's ludicrous.

I can't believe the hit pieces on the Cybertruck...
Totally agree, 100%. I find it laughable that Tavares actually said that they are tweaking their EV design monthly based in what the competition is doing. It must be humbling for him to watch Teslas trounce their best products at the dragstrip. Take notes Tavares, pay attention and take notes...
Well, as Lee Iacocca famously said in the below commercial when he was leading Chrysler " You can lead, follow, or get out of the way".
It looks like Tavares is content to follow with EVs.
Meh. It looks like a Porsche/Subaru mashup from the front, and a Volvo from the rear (which in my opinion is awful looking). To me, it doesn't even look like a Mercedes and is definitely not an inspired concept.
Jeremy,
I suggest you research this a bit more before posting these statements. I have read numerous books on the subject and watched several documentaries to get a sense of what happened.
DeLorean was entrapped. Period. The government's case, including their evidence, didn't stand up to basic...
Shameful. "gm" should fix their burning Bolts before getting cocky about this electric monstrosity.
As I posted before, my 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS goes like a bat out of hell but can't retain an accurate time or date in its electronic stereo head unit.
Based on this, I think buying an...
