This is what kind of dampens my enthusiasm. All I ever wanted was a EV truck that has a
>long range,
>towing power,
>foldable front mid-seat,
>towable four down
>and fifth wheel towing capability.
All those "intricate" things he's throwing at it (which is part of the insane delay), makes it...
WIthout Tesla ever chiming in on this issue (and the four-down towing situation), there will always be only one thing: speculations!
I think somebody needs to have a word with Elon.
(I can't do it, he hasn't heard of me yet :)).
Hello All,
So with a reservation # of 10,611 for a tri motor, when would I to be notified about configuration, and then subsequently take delivery of the truck??
Probably the billion dollar question, huh?
Thomas
Here we are again, (just like with the 5th wheel towing), all we are doing here is speculating!
And NO ONE at Tesla is ever listening ?‍♂️.
I've flat towed a Jeep Cherokee, a Saturn Outlook, AND my Chevy Silverado 2500HD behind my diesel pusher for years. So it seems to me that CT enthusiasts...
So something like tow a trailer to tow a trailer.... that's just silly. All that equipment at the campgrounds.
Tesla has to be just a bit more informative and let us know how they will accomodate for this kind of towing.
First of all to the OP: good for you for dreaming up things that might actually work in the process and awe the sceptic.
Second: the hitch turning might not be that hard to design at all. Imagine a king pin/post design where the faces are at an angle (_____add degrees here ;) ). So now as the...
Thought about that same thing before I posted the above. The only thing against it is when not in use (as most of the time throughout the year), you have a very expensive vehicle sitting around.
That's what we have experienced the last 10 years with our diesel pusher.
But with powerwalls (or...
You guys actually might be on to something if you have a couple of powerwalls in the garage.
Once ready for a trip with a toyhauler (or similar), in tow, throw in the powerwalls and tie them to the CT as a range extender. Would be cool, huh?
With a CT3 reserved I keep my fingers crossed that it won"t do much worse than my current truck.
My 2010 Chevy Silverado 4x4 crewcab with the Duramax gets 13.3 mpg avaerage non towing.
When I tow our 28' 18" extra height v-nose 14K gvwr (4,800lbs dry), enclosed cargo trailer, that mpg drops down...
KEEP IT! It is always good practice to have a spare seat available.
And once we will tow our toyhauler we will need all the space we can get with dw, two kids and two huskies :)
Hello Deemo
Seeing that you mention San Diego and Las Vegas for your location I'm assuming you're talking about the I 15 stretch between the two locations. I've been to the Bakersfield sc before and it seems this one to be the only one you won't have to unhook, correct?
As for the op, we will get rid of our mh and buy a toyhauler to be towed by the CT.
Charging will hopefully be adapted to the upcoming Ct relaease and therefore towing capabilities.
It will also be up to Tesla owners etiquete to not occupy stalls that are specificly suited for pull through...
