I know it's a pet peeve of mine, but the voltage standard is the U.S. is 120/240 and it has been since 1946!

It's not code, but I will probably do the same. Many do the same with gasoline powered generators. It's not a big deal if you are an engineer or electrician. We have a ~ 4 hour outage every 3-4 years. If our utility ever allows V2G, I'll do it to code of course.
As far as range goes...speed kills! Speaking from 4+ years with a 402 mile range Model S, I have a rolling average of 238 watt-hr/mi. That exceeds the EPA. Most of our driving is 25-65 speed limits, not a lot of interstate here in Tucson.
