Appreciate your insights but respectfully as someone with direct line to both Rivian & Tesla engineering, they are completely different mechanisms.
The Tesla trimotor can lock substantially better than the Rivian electronic traction control. Not even close.
Ability to more quickly lock/unlock each rear wheel individually while simultaneously being able to individually & precisely adjust the power to each rear wheel. And of course if you watch the video, the driver correctly uses momentum from accelerating into the mud to make it all the way...
What use would a refurbished part have if not being used in a customerās vehicle?
FYI Tesla does not label their parts as ārefurbishedā so if they were in fact doing what you suggest, it would have negative legal ramifications.
Are you suggesting Tesla would use parts from the Sent-back unit for other repairs? Seems like a good way to get sued for using old parts as new. Certainly a unit with 10,000 miles on it is not the same as a brand new one. I could see negative legal implications for Tesla if they do thisā¦
Doesnt that defeat the purpose of the simplicity of the divider mechanism? On mine I just go to the spot I want it and place it with one hand. Done. ???
Okay so it sounds like youāre certain that they could not simply replace the board without replacing the entire drive unitā¦Iāll see what my SC thinks about this and report back. Thanks again.
Thanks. I read that you also had issues with abnormal vibrations from the front drive unit. I donāt have that issue.
Are you suggesting the vibration issue and the Top speed limited to 114 are unrelated?
